Michelle - Pocket Scrapbooking ...

Happy Friday!
I have survived my first week back at work, how about you?

In my post yesterday I mentioned that I have a few resolutions regarding my scrapbooking/memory keeping this year. One of the main ones is to compile my unscrapped photos from previous years into Pocket scrapbooking style albums. This includes albums for my children, highlighting their sporting/school achievements.

So I thought I'd post a few photos from my 2013 album showcasing ideas I've used to record photos/memories in this way ...

This first page showcases some of my childrens artworks from school ... I took photos of some as they arrived home, and some I even took a photo of them while they were hanging on the walls in their classrooms. You could even give your kids a few pieces of cardstock and get them to draw a picture especially for your album.

This second page records photos and the story of a cricket camp my son attended prior to a Black Caps test match in town. In true scrapbooking style I even managed a fantastic photo of him with all the Black Caps that were present. To me this style of scrapbooking is a simple way to capture the whole day in one page - this is something I would struggle to combine on a traditional 12x12 layout.

This third page again records a sports event - the Weetbix Tryathlon. As in the previous page I was able incorporate quite a few photos along with the story from the day.

Page Four records a day trip we made ...

All the above pages were compiled using Project Life page protectors, however Kaiser and WRMK have page protectors in this style too. My journal cards are the Project Life grid cards that I have added bits to from from craft stash. You can dress these cards up with a strip of paper along one edge or with a bit of stitching or stamping (check out my earlier blog post for details).
You can also used the journalling cards created by the various scrapbook manufacturers - there are so many to chose from and there are bound to be some that appeal to your style, or type of album you want to create.

Inspired to give Pocket Scrapbooking a go? If yes you may want to check out the latest newsletter ... as there is a special of 20% off pocket scrapbooking products!

Enjoy,
Michelle

  1. 4 brilliant examples of why I should be doing more pocket pages. It would be difficult to get this many photos on a traditional page, and this is so tidy too. But I'm struggling giving up my traditional pages!
