For today's Tuesday tip I have decided to show you some ideas on how to use ribbon & flowers to make some fun spring themed gifts.
I picked up this jar from my local bargain shop. I love the shape of it & the fact that it is clear. I had some of my Miss Nelly sticker sheet left, what do you know the adhesive sticks to glass very neatly. So, decorate to suit then add some more ribbon & flowers. This is going to be perfect on my desk full of mints. You could use it for cotton wool etc I wouldn't recommend filling it with anything that requires washing it out unless you are going to seal it. I am thinking of making some school themed ones for teachers end of year gifts.
I picked up a plain white plastic headband from my local Spotlight (craft) store. I covered the headband using the lovely yellow thin velvet ribbon from the shop. Time to get out your hot glue gun. If you haven't got one, I highly recommend getting one - they are perfect for attaching embellishments to off the page projects. I tied a large bow using the blue organza ribbon, glued in place then added flowers & a rhinestone strip to complete.
For these sweet little hair clips I have used bobby pins & press clips. I gathered some ribbon to form a circle & added a flower. Tied a bow & added a sparklet...it doesn't get much easier than that! Tied on some seam binding ribbon & glued on some flowers & you're done.
Last but not least today, as I am showcasing ribbon & flowers I just had to make another cupcake! Ingredients are a foam ball, Miss Nelly paper, paper flowers, gorgeous Websters trim, Kaisercrafts Mini paper blooms, ribbon, string & flower. A few of you have left lovely comments for my larger cupcake featured in the Gallery. Thank you! For those of you that have asked me to share how I made the cupcake, I am more than happy to share. I will look at doing a tutorial in the coming months to give you more detailed instructions....watch this space.
Thanks for looking, have a great day!
Lisa
