Hi Everyone - Lowri here. Grab a coffee, pull up a chair as I have heaps to share today!
Weekly Blog Round-Up
Some amazing work on the blog again this week. Check out these posts from Lindsey, Betsy, Christine, Lisa and Sandy. It's so interesting to see everyone's different styles and there is sure to be something to inspire you.
Artfull Action
The Craftathon was busy yesterday with people working on a variety of projects such as origami, cards, scrapbooking, making miniature bird houses, making Kaiser wreaths, letter racks, display frames, 40th albums and canvas art.
Also - heaps of drama at the shop with Betsy being arrested for... Not really! Poor Betsy locked herself out of the car and needed a little assistance from the Boys in Blue...
Challenge
Have you sent your entry in yet? This month the theme is:
☼♫☺SPRING HAS SPRUNG ☼♫☺
As always the theme is designed to be VERY broad - anything goes so break out the floral paper and make something bright and cheery to herald the arrival of the warmer seasons..
Check out all the details here. Here is the sketch for the month should you choose to use it.
Product Pick
Did you see these **NEW** Kaisercraft Mini Blooms in the shop - aren't they gorgeous. They come in 18 colours and at only $4.40 a packet - you can pick them up for less than the price of a coffee!!
Lowri Echo Park Card-Set
This is one of my favorite projects to make – a card/stationary set. I thought this set would be fun to give to a friend who was moving house or moving away....This set was so much fun to make as the papers in this For the Record collection are gorgeous – saying that this collection only consists of paper and stickers so it was a little more challenging than some previous sets I have made – but that just makes it more fun!
This photo of the inside shows the little cards I made on the right and the notebook and gift-tags on the left.
The cards are super simple and use a few really fun bits and pieces from the Elements sticker sheet and Noteworthy paper. I just added a couple of rhinestones and a strip of ribbon down the side for a little bit of extra interest.
I LOVE these tags! I just took a pack of tags from the newsagent and added a square of paper and some decorative elements from the Borders and Noteworthy papers.
The note book was covered in some Stamp of Approval paper and I used a decorative strip from the Alpha sticker sheet and some rhinestones for extra sparkle.
This ruler print from the Borders paper is really neat so I used it on the inside and outside spine of my folder.
I made most of the embellishments for the front cover. I used a Sissix die to make the chipboard frame and the little chipboard house is from Australian manufacturer Dusty Attic.
I used some more of the elements from the Sticker sheet to make the stamp and cut a stamp shape to make a background. I mounted some of the embellishments on pop-dots for a great 3-d effect.
Oh yes - and GO THE WELSH tonight in the rugby!!
Lowri :-)
