Did anyone stay up last night to watch the Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant enfold? I tried to stay awake but had to give up around 2.30am. To be honest the commentary from Sky TV was less than riveting whereas this morning's coverage by the BBC on UKTV was way more interesting. I've only watched about an hour of it but it is recorded (hopefully) and I will have to watch it in bits over the following days. All I know for sure is that it rained a lot but the whole Royal Family are safe. I did think that was a bit risky putting everyone in direct line to the throne on one boat but, of course, all went well. There was lots of flag-waving, Handel's Water Music (magnificent), singing and cheering, water canons, fireworks and even a horse.
I so admire the Queen even though some of the others in the Royal Family I could do without. Her Coronation took place in the year I was born so the big events of her reign are woven into the story of my life - and that's another thing I am looking forward to scrapbooking about one day.
As I said, I haven't watched it all yet but was rather disappointed that the royal corgis didn't make an appearance.
And talking of dogs (really smooth link there Lindsey) here's a photo of the latest addition to our family. I apologise for the wonky photo of the layout but it's really the best I can do.
This is my son's puppy - "Pippi". She visited us a couple of weekends ago. She's adorable but I rather wished that she would stop piddling on my carpets and hanging by her teeth from the belt of my dressing gown. Anyway, I've used the Bella Keepsake Papers because I liked the brown and white pattern which coordinated with her cute little face.
I entitled the page "Happiness is a Warm Puppy" which is a Charles Shultz quote ("Quotes" being our theme for the month). He was the Peanuts cartoonist featuring Charlie Brown and a dog called Snoopy. Entirely appropriate as my son is curled up on MY sofa with his warm and cuddly puppy (I will be very interested to see if Pippi is allowed onto his new leather sofa which will be arriving in a couple of weeks ...).
Here's a closeup. The diecuts are also Bella "Keepsake") and so is the ribbon with the brown crosses on it - although it's layered on top of a plain blue Stampin' Up ribbon. The flowers are Prima. The chipboard fern is by Dusty Attic and they just have a bit of gesso splooshed on them.
There's some Kaisercraft blue bling dotted along the border and also the brown flourishes are Kaisercraft.
OK well that's it. Thanks for looking everybody.

It's totally darling (and i don't just mean the puppy)!
ReplyDeleteLove these colours together Lindsey! And your flower clusters are fab!
ReplyDeleteI think it is just super - my favourite colour combo too. Wouldn't it be lovely if all dogs stayed this size!! ( apart from the piddling that is!!)
