Sandy with a pair of 'Then and Now' layouts for you today appropriately using Ruby Rock-It's Nostaglia collection. Both of them are based on the theme of my love of ice cream .
This first segmented circle design was inspired by darts and dart boards. It worked really well to draw the eye from one layout element - photo, journalling, title - to the next. The retro look was completed through the use of arrows, tickets, flag tails and a hand-crochet flower that my blogger friend Maya sent me.
The next layout was created to mimic a fair-ground advertising poster with a banner at the top embellished with Bella Bling! that looked like the twinkling lights of a marquee. The stripe pattern is actually a pocket that held hidden journalling tags. Those retro style phrases from the collection worked really well as headers for my tags.
Hope you enjoyed these projects where I focused on a red, yellow and kraft colour scheme to show you a different side to the Nostaglia collection. For more close-up photos and descriptions, you can check out posts on my blog here and here.
I just love his work and creativity!
