Good morning everyone, its Melissa here! I missed you for my second post last month as I ended up sick in hospital, I'm all good now!
This month I got to play with Kaisercraft's new Base Coat 3, which I would consider a more neutral, earthy and masculine product range. I'm always keen to take on a challenge, and so I decided to combine this range with our October Challenge "In The Pink" - you can find all the details here.
I was keen to use this month's sketch and theme and create a layout and a card. Here the sketch by Sketches in Thyme:
Sketches are great when you need help with getting your creativity flowing, or you have limited time to scrap. Sketches can be a great starting point, or you can follow them exactly.
Here is my layout:
I added a small strip of hot pink washi for something unexpected! Here is a close up of my layering:

I used some vanilla cardstock, and then searched through my stash for the perfect piece of pink patterned paper that would work with the tones in Base Coat 3. This older piece from Jillibean Soup was perfect. My layout is about my daughter, and how she actually let me do her hair in ponytails on this particular day! Definitely a moment to be photographed, scrapped and recorded!
With my leftover scraps I decided to use the same sketch to make a quick card. I'm not the biggest card maker, but whenever I make one I really enjoy the process, especially the smaller canvas size, and the freedom to work without a photo.
You can shop for the entire Base Coat 3 range in the shop here. Make sure you play along in this month's challenges for the chance to win awesome prizes.
Have a fantastic rest of October and see you later in the month!
Melissa :)
