Michelle - Project Life cards

Hello crafters and fellow Project Lifers!

I am compiling a Project Life style album this year - but a simple version. My pages are very photo heavy with journalling cards added with the details. I don't tend to add extra embellishments as I don't want to add too much bulk to my album, so the way I 'jazz' my pages up is to add extra detail to my journalling cards. I do this by adding various shapes cut from patterned papers and a bit of hand stitching ... here is an example where I used the plain grid cards from Becky Higgins Project Life range ... I used my MFT dies to cut some different flag shapes to make a bunting with stitching for effect ...

Being a cross-stitcher in past crafty life, I have an abundance of coloured threads that match or contrast with most of the patterned papers. But even with this rainbow of threads I find I use a lot of white and black threads when I'm adding stitching.

So here are a few example of shapes cut on my cuttlebug using my MFT dies. Liz has a few varieties of dies in the shop but if there are other ones you want just contact her and she can order them in for you. Again in this example I am using Becky Higgins 3x4 Project Life grid cards.

Here I have pierced some holes through the design/card for ease of stitching.

Then I added some stitching with different coloured threads ... not just straight lines but also a cross for a different effect ... (Note: most threads are have 6 strands - I tend to split this in half and do my stitching with 3 strands).

Here are a variety of cards that I have added stitching too ... these are a variety of Project Life Blush edition and Snap! collection cards ...

This is a card from the Simple Stories Snap! Family pack ...

This is a card from the Becky Higgins Project Life - Blush Edition Core Kit ...

Remember that you can use stitching on any of your projects ... you will quite often see stitching on my layouts and maybe on the odd card!

Enjoy your weekend everyone, I'm off to Stadium here in Dunedin to cheer on the All Blacks, it's sure to be a great game! :)
