Lowri - June Kaisercraft Collections!!
Hi Everyone- Lowri here.
Thought I would share with you today the projects I made for the final round of submissions for the Kaisercraft Design Team.
Pink Gelato Trinket Box
I wanted to create a very light and whimsical look for this box so I have sanded all the edges with a very fine grit sandpaper before painting with pale blue acrylic paint. To create a slightly aged look I have stamped a text pattern onto the edges using first white and then brown ink. This highlights the subtle text in the paper and breaks up the solid look of the wooden edges.
After covering all the visible sides with paper I have then used the stickers and rubons provided to decorate. The top has been left very simple to allow the lid of the box to be easily opened.
To create the buttons on the front I have punched circles of plain chipboard and then added a circle of paper on top, insert a pearl brad and a little handle is made!

Velvet Ensemble Layout
There are some wonderfully rich colours in the papers for this collection but I still wanted to keep the overall look of the layout very clean so I have used the simple colour scheme of cream, black and burgundy. The Performance paper is the perfect background to use as it already has lots of interest with the music and gramophone print.
For the “dress” square I have used eyelets to form a corset and used lace to complete the ornate look.
The sticker sheet offers many options for decoration, and here I have put some together to form a background for my “Chorus” lettering. For the letters I stamped onto then with white ink for extra depth, using the Kaisercraft Sheet Music Stamp.To make the lace "button" I have used a simple technique which can be seen in my mini tutorial below.

- Cut or punch a circle of paper the same colour as your lace
- Make it super sticky all over(I used glue dots but you can use double sided tape)
- Starting at centre, roll your lace in a circle, twisting as you go
- Press down firmly to ensure lace sticks to glue
- Be sure to roll tightly as you get to the end and secure the end underneath with another glue dot
- You can now decorate as you choose!

SENZ Weekly Wednesday - Edition Five
Apologies - two weeks in a row! This has become the SENZ Thursday Throw Back!
It's because we're working so hard on SENZ that getting to the computer has been tricky. With the Artfull Getaway now over, we've suddenly turned our attention to SENZ. Last week I spoke about the "materials lists". They are all on the website and loaded up for you to check. If you click into the classes that you've booked then click the materials list then you'll have all the info you require to pack your bags.
There are 2 lists on the website. One is the "to bring list" and the other is an "optional list". We will supply items on the optional list - but if you have your own it will save you queuing in the class.
Classes are a heap of fun and we still have spaces available. With 2 weeks to go we thought we'd give an incentive to join in our classes. Anyone who books (or who has already booked in) for 3 or more Artfull Crafts classes will receive a Kaisercraft "Thankyou Goodie Bag". It will include a Beyond the Page project and a variety of Kaiser products worth $20. So don't miss out and get booking! We will have the packs at SENZ for you to pick up.
Most of the stock for the class kits arrived yesterday and the classroom upstairs has been transformed into a busy packing zone. We had lists, lists and more lists (checked, checked and double-checked!) and plenty of bags. In fact we did the maths and by next Thursday we need to have made up 320 class kits and 150 Card Temptations Kits. I think I'd better order some more bags!
Today Lowri and I finalised all the classroom decoration plans - we think you'll love the extra effort we are putting in. Lowri will be busy for the next week or so with all the ideas we came up with!
We also want to introduce you to the Team that is coming with us to Auckland. I'm coming (Liz!) and my lovely husband is taking a week off to join us. He'll be the man wearing the Black Desperate Housewive apron. Vicki and Juanita will be the stall managers and will be ably assisted by Diana Steven and Mary Schwaderer. We'll also be joined by Betsy Clark who will be teaching 2 classes as well.We're also welcoming Al and Mel and Christina from Kaisercraft Australia. I also have a couple of friends in Auckland who are keen to help out. We've got a great team and are looking forward to serving you! If you are at a loose end on the Thursday during the day we do have a huge job to set up the stall and classroom - so we might be keen on extra hands. We'll offer some free classes to people who help :-). Email us if you are interested.
I'd better go now and organise all the specials, pamphlets, instructions and ordering! It's been a huge ordering week and we have some new products that we will be showing at SENZ that we haven't had in the store before. Can't wait for all the fun!

Kaisercraft "Blae & Ivy" ~Shirl
Good Morning, everyone!
Its freezing over here in Aust so I'm tipping its worse over there in NZ!
I've got a couple of project to share this morning...
Using the new Kaiser "BLAE & IVY" range..which I just LOVE now that I've worked with it..to be honest I wasnt to sure about it when I first saw it!!
Ist up I've done a simple but effective layout of my husband & I..I've always loved this photo but for 16 years I've never done anything with it...my fav thing on the layout is the little fan and OH so easy to make...I just started with a rectangle if paper and folded it back on itself every 1/2 cm..(I'm hopeless with measurements so I NEVER measure anything! then I just "fanned" it out and glued the ends together..then tied some ribbon and added the beautiful sullivans button...LOVE IT!!!
The next project is my cousins beautiful new wife.Kellie....she's just stunning! and we all love her very much..
I loved the little "dusty Attic"dress form that Liz sent me so I decided to "dress" her in a wedding dress, which was just a piece of lace and I threaded the blue velvet ribbon thru it and glued on the pearls... Love the cluster of Kaiser blooms & mini roses...
Then I had a few minutes to spare before I had to get my kids from school so I made a few very quick cards with the scraps...

Artfull Getaway Highlights!
What a great weekend we had. It wasn't exactly tropical outside - but we didn't mind - we kept warm with fun and craft.
The theme was "Tropical Getaway" so we decorated the place with togs and towels, moved the beach to Artfull Crafts, dug up treasure and did plenty of crafting in between.
There was a main group of 23 ladies who stayed the whole weekend and then a handful of locals who came just for the classes. We ran two classes at a time (cards, projects and layouts) and we feel really blessed to have the wonderful facilities. We set up one classroom in the foyer and one upstairs and there was still plenty of space.
We borrowed part of Caroline Bay for the weekend (without resource Consent - whoops!!) and buried some bottles with messages. People dug up special deals, spot prizes, demos and more. Sally-Anne just wanted to make sand castles!One of the fun "beach dig" activities was the chocolate game. A dice is sent around the table and whenever anyone rolls a six they have to jump up, put on 3 pieces of clothing from the line and proceed to eat chocolate with a knife and fork until someone else rolls a six. What fun!
We ran 3 of the SENZ classes as practice and they were very well received. Whew! Here's a bit of the Make-Up Madness class.
We are really grateful to Betsy Clark and Tanya Leigh who joined us for the weekend tutoring. We appreciate the info and knowledge you shared with us.
We're planning more of these events - but you'll have to be quick to register next time. I have a feeling these ladies will be back! next event - SENZ in 3 weeks time! Lots to organise...
Senz Projects by Tina
Hi everyone, its a bit cold here in Brisbane (although all of you accross in NZ would probably think its hot!) and I'm trying to ward off the flu. I've been busy creating stuff for Liz to take to SENZ. So here's some of my projects.
A Kaisercraft frame using Zva bling and a Pink Gelato diecut sticker as an accent.
I made this mini-abum using Kaisercraft Pink Gelato papers, stickers and tags.

Sunday Scrapping with Guest Artist - Debbie Sherman
Hi Everyone - hope you are having a great long weekend. If you are in Canterbury - we are thinking of you - those aftershocks must be awful - I felt the one this morning here in Blenheim 300+km away. Here's hoping today's post will provide a welcome distraction from the shaking.....
We have a GREAT guest artist today - Debbie Sherman is on the Design Team for one of our most popular brands - Bo Bunny as well as Flower Soft, Best Creations and a couple of others too. She has some wonderful work to share with us - look at theme amazing flowers she has made.
How were you introduced to scrapbooking?
I was introduced to scrapbooking at a Creative Memories party about 20 years ago. I was hooked!
What inspires you for layouts, projects, cards?
I'm inspired by a number of people, places and things to create. Mostly my sweet grandkids. I'm a paper addict too!!
What other project types do you like to work on besides scrapbook pages?
I make alot of altered projects, mostly for my scraproom decorations.
What scrapbooking tools/products can you not do without?
I have several favorite manufacturers, the one I always reach for is BoBunny. Here are few of the others I love, Graphic 45, My Minds Eye, KandCO.I simply can't live without my Colorbox Chalk ink in Chestnut Roan. I always have 3 or 4 ink pads in my stash.
What is your current favorite technique or embellishment?
My current favorite technique is making my own flowers and embellishments. I will never stop doing that and I'm always looking for new ways to make them.
What do you hope to try or improve on this year?
I would really love to try a little more simple scrapping...I keep trying but I always feel like my page is empty. I'd love to get better at this. I'd also like to improve my photography skills. I've been going to school for this and this year I'm going to get better at it.
What advice can you give to people just beginning to enjoy scrapbooking?
The best advice I can give people just starting out is to be yourself, try new things and most of all have fun!!

I do have a blog. I have 2 actually, my main blog is called Creatively Speaking where I upload projects almost daily. My other blog is a fun blog called Creative Cookbooking. It features several contributors who show you how to scrap your favorite recipes and how to decorate your kitchen with scrapbook projects.

SUNDAY SCRAPPING
Guest Designer - Debbie Sherman
Debbie lives with her husband in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, and when she is not scrapbooking she works as a Road Designer for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. She has been scrapbooking for over 20 years and her huge wealth of experience shows in all her work - which is truly beautiful. Here she answers our questions and shares some of her personal favorites.

| The Rosette Egg This was created by making several (around a 100) rosettes and then hot gluing them to a styrofoam egg. I embellished it with diamond dust to make it sparkle and then added the tulle and tag for embellishments |

| Circa Layout This layout is of my Mother and I just love this photo. I wanted it to look Vintage and shabby so I did a lot of distressing. I used a crocheted doily for added dimension and created the other 2 paper doilies by cutting circles and using a corner punch around the edges. I then embellished with a handmade flower and other paper flowers and flourishes. I also did a little machine stitching on this layout - another one of my go to techniques |

Wedding Layout This layout is of a couple that are friends of mine. I photographed their wedding recently and loved this photo. I created the big circle and then used my cropadile to punch holes around the circle. I then crocheted around the circle added the photo and embellished with hand made flowers and punched butterflies. I also fussy cut some of the flowers from the patterned paper. |

Lowri - Bo Bunny Album
Hi Everyone - Lowri here.
I have a really quick and simple idea for a mini album to share today. Quick and simple as most of the hard work is done for you!
I have never used Bo Bunny products before but when I saw this gorgeous Ad-Lib Collection, I thought it would be great for a fun mini album featuring the kids.
Not only that - but they have these amazing jigsaw pieces, already cut and covered with paper to use as the perfect base!.
I have used a selection of black and white photos as I really wanted the colours of the papers and embellishments to stand out.
There is a HUGE selection of sentiments on the various sticker sheets available making it really easy for the pages to come together.
The puzzle shaped pieces add heaps of interest and spots for stickers to add extra colour.
This is my favourite photo! (They were all taken on a walk around our vineyard on Good Friday)
This would be a great projects to do with your kids. It would only take a couple of ideas to put together and would make a perfect homemade grandparent gift.
Hope you have enjoyed this. I will certainly be on the look out for some more Bo Bunny products as these were lovely to work with and the colours are gorgeous!

SENZ Weekly Wednesday - Edition Four
Hi everyone. We're only a day late for this post! We have the Getaway this weekend - and so we're scurrying about decorating the place! What fun...
Because of that this will be a SHORT post (compared to last week's one!)
SENZ class bookings are going well. We do have a great class line up - so be sure to book in soon. We have sold out of the Saturday Timeless Drawers Session - so we've put another session on Friday 12pm.
This week Lowri and Betsy have been busy creating table decorations for the Artfull Classroom and I shopped up a PINK storm at Payless Plastic. It's amazing how many pink items there are on the market...
Next week 's priority for us is letting you know the SENZ "What to bring lists". With only 3 weeks to go it's time to start packing your bags! We will have the Materials lists loaded up on the website and you'll be able to link immediately to products that you need to order. How easy is that?!
So, I'm off now to shop for some summery, tropical holiday bits and pieces...
