"X-Mas Wood" with "Webster's Pages"

Hello my friends!

Valou today for the post of inspiration.

I hope that you are well today. It's very cold here, in Belgium. The Winter is there!

I chose to realize a home decoration. It is about the word " XMAS " every letter of which is wooden. I painted at first every letter with " white Gesso ".

Papers are a collection " Graphic45 ", a collection " Nutcracker Sweet ".

I covered the edge of every paper with "Glitter Stickels Silver".

All the rubberstamps which I used are rubberstamps "Magnolia".

To colorize them, I used the following ink:

- Ink "Distress Tattered Rose" and " Distress Vintage Photo " for the skin.
- Ink " Distress Worm Lipstick for the pink-red.
- Ink "Distress Bundled Sage" for the green.
- Ink "Distress Stormy Sky" for the blue.
- Mauve chalk.

I cut every image and I stuck them all with foam pieces 3-d.

Behind the letter " X ", I stuck a young white doily then, a die-cut "Clock" that I cut from a paper of the same collection.

Then, I added a bow realized with a piece of ribbon " white polka-dot mauve Organza " to which I attached one " Charm - Snowman ". I also decorated this letter with a blue carnation, a cluster of white berries, a pink rose " Kaisercraft " and two small buttons of closed roses " Rose and cream ".

For the letter "M", I decorated with a die-cut young "Stamp" of the same collection, a flourishe in brown paste " Kaisercraft ", a white rose, a blue rose and a pink closed rose. I also added a small rosace that I realized with a fall of paper and decorated with a small feeling "Christmas".

For the letter "A", I decorated with a pink rose, a blue rose and one " Lilidaft cremates ".

The feeling is realized with the file of the shop " The Cutting Cafe ", " CANDY CANE BOX SET... TEMPLATE-CUTTING FILE ".

For the last letter, I also added a young white doily behind. Then, I added a flower " Gardenia white ", a pink rose old, a spangled white berry, a small pine cone covered with artificial snow, a blue carnation and a small bow realized with a fall of silvery ribbon "Merry Christmas".

All the flowers are covered with some touches of "Glitter Stickels Icicle".

And here is for today!

I wish you an excellent day and find you very soon with a new realization!

Have a lovely day!

Christmas decorations

Hi everyone!
Hope you are enjoying the countdown to Christmas!

Today I am sharing with you a Christmas decoration I made using 12x 12 papers.
This Christmas "ball" is made using a polystyrene ball as the centre and lots of rolled roses glued to cover the entire surface. The photo does not do this justice! There is lovely sparkly glitter around the outer edges of each individual rose.

The first step is to choose three sheets of patterened paper, and cut 60 circles. I used a 2.5 inch circle punch
Next step : cut into the circle in a spiral pattern as shown here. Trim off the piece as shown to round off the edge

Start to roll the rose, begin with the inside of the spiral and work to the outside like this:

Continue to roll the rose right to the end and let it unravel a little to give a loose rose shape. Secure the tail with a little glue.

Once you have all 60 "roses" rolled up, glue each one individually to a polystyrene ball. ( I used a fast drying glue) glue a piece of ribbon in place to hang your decoration. Once dry, use your finger ( or a paint brush) to smear some glue over the outer edges of each rose and cover with glitter. (This will make the decoration sparkle and glint in the sun or indeed with the lights on your tree.

You could easily use different papers and scatter the roses haphazardly over the polystyrene ball for a different effect.

Enjoy making your home a festive place this Christmas

Happy Christmas, and happy crafting

Sharon

Melissa - Place Setting Cards (Kaisercraft St Nicholas)

Hi its Melissa here, and we're into the swing of December here in our house. The tree is up and our whole family is practicing for our annual Church play which is on this weekend.  I love that the blog here is filled with Christmas projects and fun too!

Today I have some place setting cards that I made with the Kaisercraft St Nicholas collection, which is a lovely sophisticated and vintage range.  We're spending Christmas lunch with my husband's parents, so I made these place names for the four of us.

I made the tags with gold papers from the 6x6 pad, adhered them onto some card stock, and then just layered some of the die cut elements, and elements from the 6x6 pad.  I wrote out the names with my handwriting to make them more personal.  I envisage these sitting on the plates.

Here are some close ups:

Make sure you enter the current challenge on the blog which is home, table and tree decorations. You can find all the details here.  If you want to purchase St Nicholas, you can find it in the shop here. Thanks for looking
Melissa :)

Lowri - Christmas House (Gingerbread Collection)

Hi Everyone - Lowri here to share my fun Christmas House using the Gingerbread Collection and this fabulous "Little Cottage" from Kaisercraft.

This project was a lot of fun to make - and this Gingerbread Collection from Kaisercraft lends itself well to a "Summertime Christmas" decor with it's lovely retro style colors and prints. Before beginning assembly I lightly sanded and painted all the wooden pieces. I then covered the sides and roof in paper and painted the base white. When the base was dry I lightly stamped all over using green ink with a woodgrain stamp and then used silver paint on bubblewrap to "stamp" over the base!

I used mounting foam to add this tree sticker and  give a dimensional effect. The fence was painted white and then stamped using a woodgrain stamp.

This little gingerbread man was so cute - I had to use him somewhere! Layering elements such as these gift pieces make it easy to add a lot of dimension to this type of project.

Using the mounting foam makes element such as the bells and greeting pop out. These striped elements from the sticker sheet make great awnings. The star is doing a great job of covering off where the roof didn't quite meet properly!

Use a very sharp knife to get a fine finish on the elements that you cover in paper - then use some fine git sandpaper to smooth and rough edges

This house looks great with some electronic tea-lights in the center to light it up at night.
If you are in Timaru - you can pop into the shop and take a closer look!

Please post a comment with any questions :-)

Time for a "Tea Break"

Tea Break is a delightful, springy range from Kaiser.  As soon as I saw the set, I knew what I was going to make.  I have struggled quite a bit this past year with self-esteem issues and finding out who I am.  But thankfully, I am more sure of myself now.

Kaiser card stock misted with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine "Gold" is the base of my layout.  The 6x6 pad is great for adding layers without big prints.  I love this page for all its tags and all these embellishments.  This sticker sheet has so many awesome phrases on it.  It is versatile for many projects.  Flowers and a bit of sparkle along with some ribbon trim round out this layout.

I also quickly made some cards with the bits that didn't make it onto my layout.  So quick and easy for someone who isn't a card maker! :)

I used more of the 6x6 pad to cover this chipboard "s" for a friend.  A few flowers and one of the embellishment tags made this a quick and easy project.

Make sure you pop on over to the shop to find Tea Break and many other yummy products.  Hope you are enjoying the Christmas Countdown.  It will be here before we know it!

See you soon!
