Once again - this theme is designed to be VERY broad - we want to see anything and everything to do with family and friends! In case you need a little inspiration - here is the sketch for this month to help you along.

Entering the Challenge

Your entry to the challenge can be either along our theme of "Family and Friends" OR it can be using the sketch OR of course it can be both!
To enter the challenge - send a picture of your project to the Design Team. You can send us as many entries as you like. We will be featuring all entries on the blog later in the month.

SUNDAY SCRAPPING
Guest Designer - Sandie Vincent

Sandie is a UK based freelance scrapbook designer and teacher.  She loves to use white space on her layouts, mix papers and layer, as well as free-hand doodling and/or inking.  She also loves to use dimension and lots of colour on her pages and her 3 children tend to be the main focus of her pages. She kindly agreed to answer our questions and share some of her favorite projects with us.

How were you introduced to scrapbooking?
I was introduced to scrapbooking by a friend who ran an online scrapbooking shop. At the time I was making cards and was adamant that I didn't want to get "hooked" on another craft. Well she kept on at me until I went along to a class that she was teaching, and that was that! From that day onwards I have been an avid scrapbooker.

Family Portrait
I created this using a kit from My Creative Scrapbook, on a rare moment I could scrap for myself! I took this photo last year with my brand new Canon camera, and I just love this photo of my children so much!

What inspires you for layouts, projects, cards?
I think the main thing that inspires me is other scrapbookers. I love to trawl through galleries and blogs looking at other peoples beautiful pages. When I am really stuck for inspiration I turn to sketches and magazines.

What other project types do you like to work on besides scrapbook pages?
If I'm honest I don't work on many other projects apart from scrapbook pages. I do make the occasional mini book, and the odd altered item.

What scrapbooking tools/products can you not do without?
I'm quite a basic scrapbooker, and I can easily do a page as long as I have my tim holtz ruler, craft knife, scissors, ink pad and a journaling pen.
Party in the Park
This is a layout that I created to teach at a Scrapbooking Retreat last year using the gorgeous Pink Paislee papers, the photos are from my daughters 5th birthday, we went to the park for some fun!

What is your current favorite technique or embellishment?
I love to distress the edges of paper and cardstock, that has to be my favourite technique, and I absolutely love shimmer mists at the moment. I have a growing collection of colours!

What do you hope to try or improve on this year?
This year I am taking a few classes myself, I teach so much that I don't get the chance to scrap for myself very often. So that is a top priority for me at the moment.
Altered Clipboard
This was a project I created for My Creative Scrapbook for my design team work. I don't do altered work very often, but loved how this turned out, it was perfect for Valentines!!

What advice can you give to people just beginning to enjoy scrapbooking?
My advice to any new scrapbooker is to enjoy what you are doing. Scrapbooking is personal, and it doesn't matter if your pages do not look like your favourite scrapper whose blog you follow, as long as you like them and you're enjoying the process of putting them together, thats all that matters. And also to take classes, its a great way to make like minded friends and learn some fun techniques and styles at the same time.

Do you have a blog
I do have a blog, you can find me at http://allscrappedout.blogspot.com/ it would be great to see you there, drop by and say hi!
