Hi everyone Jo here, I know you probably thought I fell off the planet, but actually I have been so very busy with a few projects that it took awhile to get myself sorted. But now I am back, and ready to go.
This project today is using some of the new MDF wood shapes that Artfull Crafts are now stocking. Unfortunately they are not loaded on their shop yet, however if you have signed up to their newsletter you will get to see when it has been done.
This project is using the Eiffle tower, and whilst I could have done it on it's own, I really wanted to have a play with it on a canvas. As I am still testing my mixed media likes and dislikes I thought I would try a few more tricks. I had every intention of doing it in blues and greens and then I just picked up the pinks and blacks, don't ask why i have no idea. I guess thats the colour she just wanted to be.
This is quite a big piece, about 50cm x 40cm. I started with the Eiffel Tower and then just kept adding from there.
I made sure to use lots of texture and interesting pieces, especially this earring that my mother n law was throwing out, above photo.
I just loved this saying, so it had to go on the canvas.
and finally I thought I would add another project I did ages ago, with a Kaisercraft Eiffel Tower, which I just gave to my niece for her birthday.
So if you don't want to put it on a canvas, it still looks great all on it own. Enjoy. Check out the Artfull Crafts newsletter if you haven't joined yet, and also go in store and see what new products you can find. I wish I was in Timaru, imagine the fun I could have then.
I went with the reds in this collection for my cards (Other colours are great too!) Red roses are one of my favourite flowers. I have used papers from the 6x6 pad as the background and then the Collectables, stickers and a bit of Bling to embellish. I love the Bakers twine from Papervine - such a good variety of colours - but I use black the most!
My Dad turned 101 last week so I had to make a special card for him. I made the frame using Spellbinders 5x7 Enchanted Labels 28. I hand cut out the patterned paper for the frame from the 6x6 pad using the die as my pattern to draw around. I then used some Collectables to embellish and diecut out the 101 from some lovely glittter card.
The layout is one of my family with my Dad taken a year ago on his 100th birthday. The background paper -Beloved-I layered onto black card to give it a border. Then I have just used smaller patterned papers, Collectables, Stickers and Rubons to embellish the page. The letters for the title are from Prima.
Butterflies are various Martha Stewart punches.
Hello, Tracy here again. Now many of you should know by now that I am a card maker by heart that occasionally dabbles in a bit of scrap booking. Well I ordered some Kaisercraft - Procelain Rose from Liz, and she sent it up the line to the North Island. I admit I sat there for a while, then thought of the perfect photos for this paper. So here it is... yes it is plain and simple... unlike my cards, but I do like the natural no fuss look of this layout.
I am in the middle of doing Project life with photos of my mothers garden and this is one of the many amazing personality's.
Hi there- Christine here with a card I have made using Kaisercraft's Elegance Collection.
Kaisercraft in their 6x6 pads have a couple of 'special' papers, usually shiny! So I have used the gorgeous shiny silver one to diecut a birdcage from My Favourite Things. The flowers and flourishes are also MFT -love that black centre of the flower. The butterfly is the Martha Stewart one.
Next is this little house I have made out of an off cut of wood! I covered it in papers from the pad and then brushed them lightly with some white paint. I used some of the Elegance Collectables to decorate, along with Spellbinders Decorative Labels 1, some ribbon and some bling!
This was suppose to be for last month, when it was all about houses and homes - but I had a little holiday instead! Anyway better late than never! It does work for this month too as it uses my favourite things - dies!
to show you some more creations from this week...I tell you my wee fingers have been scrappin' up a storm these last few weeks!
Liz sent me an amazing bag of goodies from the Needle and Thread Collection from Kaiser and there was certainly lots to play with. I absolutely love older style papers and goodies and this definitely filled the void...
I could add the lace and pearls and all types of little bits and bobs till I couldn't add anymore.
Anyway lets see what you think...
I found a shallow canvas, reversed it, so it gave me a frame. I covered the inside with Needle and Thread "Pattern" paper and used a lot of Gesso and tissue paper, then rubbed lightly over with a mixture of Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks and set it aside to dry while I got busy making all the little tags for inside
each of the little tags is 3 x 3 1/2in and I have cut the scallop pieces using the Graphically Speaking cartridge in the Cricut. Of course there had to be some flowers...
this above tag is using one of the little pieces from the Die Cut embellishment pack and that pack really is value for money there is so many little pieces every time I looked I saw something different! the little jar of buttons is from Bangkok and I made a shelf for them and the buttons by using a small cotton reel to hold the shelf up
This tag once again has embellishments from the Die Cut pack and some pearl trinket pins and a very small doily
I think this one is my favorite as it has the T!m Holtz mini Rosette Flower die with some more trinket pins in each groove and lots of little pieces to the tag
Now this one was a bit of a mission I had it in my head I wanted to make some little books and have them on the shelf...it just spiraled until i ended up with a tag that was a "little" large...but hey it worked and I got the books on there
tiny buttons are "sew" magic and can just finish off a little area, which in this case on the very small tag I think they worked
NOW! Liz said "hey Robbi, make a card"...I said NO WAY! I am not a card maker and when you see the Beautiful work that our very own Miss Betsy comes up with then mine are definitely wanting!!!
But this is what I came up with, (kinda copied it off the 1st tag as I loved making the dress) and I also got to use some more T!m.
Anyway Ladies that's it for now...Thanks for looking and checking out what I have been busy beavering away at....I hope to bring you some more little bits in the near future (Probably not cards tho!)
Lets know what you think, I like getting your comments
Happi Scrappin' Robbi
Hello Tracy here to show you a few cards using this months release Summer Breeze from Kaisercraft. I had such fun making these cards. First off is the "z card". I don't know why I don't use this type of fold more often. Layering the front panels with the die cuts was so easy to put together.
Closed, tied with a ribbon. Not sure I like the ribbon I used.. but hey, I can get it right next time.
I spent a hour cutting out flowers from one of the Summer Breeze papers.
And lastly, I have to put my copics to use and colour an image. I also used new release Marianne Design Swirls & Leaves CR1245
If you are lucky enough to live near Liz and Artfull Crafts, these two and 6 other cards will be at the shop by the end of the week.
I have been busy lately with some secret projects but all will come to light very soon, however so you don't forget about me or wonder if I'm still around here is some other goodness I have been busy with.
1st up is a layout I created using the new Bo Bunny range of C'est La Vie papers, these are gorgeous
and can really be used for either a Male or Female layout/book etcand worked well for My Son Chris and his Fiancee Anna and of course there's a little T!m included. I used some of the Easycast Resin that's available to create the little frame and bird.
This next layout I used some older style Prima Papers, from the Nature Garden Collection, another of
T!m's dies and beautiful Flowers and Butterflies
This is a favorite of mine, its using the Graphic 45 Ladies Diary Collection, and some Papervine Washi Tape
over the chipboard letters for Emz name. Check out the next photo to see what the little flaps are hiding
This was a great way of having lots of photos on one layout without having them all jumping out at you, and I was able to once again put on lots of butterflies, flowers and hearts etc
This layout is very special, as it is photos of My Mum and Myself both aged 6. I have used the New Pink Paislee line of Hope Chest Papers along with come of the embellies from their Cottage Farm collection. I have coloured some muslin using distress inks and created some wide washi tape to help lift some of the colours and give me a better area to build up....you guessed it ... the flower cluster
Thank You for checking out my little corner of "Randomness" today and watch out there's something more to come on Thursday....
Until Then
Happi Scrappin! Robbi
Good morning all - Betsy here this morning.
I would like to share a couple cards which I have made for orders. Of course I have used some of my favourite dies again, as well as some of my favourite collections. Mind you, I think I may be addicted to both!!!
I love the colours of this card, as no doubt you will all know, it is another of my favourite things!!
The die I have used is a Marianne Craftables Die, CR1241 to cut out the centre. It is a Spellbinders Labels Die for the sentiment. The flowers are from I Am Roses, available at Artfull Crafts. Kaisercraft's Periwinkle collection was used.
This card was made using another favourite! Marianne Creatables LR0180 which I love! The butterfly is cut out with a Marianne Creatables LR0115. This was a challenge, to make a monochromatic card.
All today ladies, have a great day and remember the challenges at Artfull Crafts.
