Now is the time to get those Christmas Cards made and sent to all your
friends and loved ones.
The first card is a Gatefold Easel Card made with the gorgeous Simple Stories DIY Christmas Collection. I found the template for this on the
Internet. The tag is found on the
Journal Layers and I have wrapped Silver Trim around this and added my PeelCraft sentiment. The Poinsettia Flowers and Leaves I cut out and covered
with Glossy Accents and on the centres of the Flowers I have used Liquid Pearls.
The Heart Stand was also from the Journal Layers paper.I finished by making a band that wraps around
the card to hold it in place which I embellished.
My next card is the Tri-Fold Shutter Card, another template which I also
found on the Internet. For this card I have used the Kaisercraft Yuletide Collection. I have used embellishments from the Yuletide - Collectables, Gold
Trim and Flowers to embellish this card. I also inked the edges of the
decorative pieces of paper.
I so enjoyed creating these cards, be sure to head on over to the
Artfull Crafts Gallery and enter the Christmas Countdown Fancy Cards Competition.
Hi Beverley here today -how are you enjoying all the Christmas Countdown? Christmas is fast approaching - only four weeks to go! Today I am showing you two more complex cards - well one looks more like a decoration and the other looks like a mini book! Both are using mainly Simple Stories DIY Christmas collection
My first card is a tepee or wigwam card with a difference - sorry I do not have progress photos as I am a night time scrapper and my camera is not very good at night. There are tutorials online though.
I made three different size cards and then decorated them. Then as they are different sizes they stack up on each other and make a little Christmas tree. The Christmas messages can be written on the lower tepees and therefore not show up so the card can be a little decoration too. The only problem is it cannot go flat and go in the post.
My next "card" is more like a brag book. I thought it would be a great idea to have something that is a little more then a card as a present for grandparents, aunties, uncles or other family members. Ideas to use this idea could be progressive photos of your children with Santa or fur babies dressed as Santa over the years or a photo and personal message from each member of your immediate family.
I have done a concertina binding for the "card" and then created the pages - again using tutorials online. I have only done a sample of what you could create - you could have more pages too.
Thanks for looking and I hope you are having some time to join in the fun! If you do make sure to load them here for a chance to win some prizes.
Today I have some Christmas cards to show you today that aren't as quick to produce as clean and simple cards but look just as gorgeous!
Both of my cards today use the Kaisercraft North Pole collection, - both are quite different and shows the versatility of the collection, one card traditional red and white, while the other is teal, black and white.
This card measures 6x6 so those paper pads are perfect for it! Ive cut a circle out of the middle of the card and then done the same thing to the red doily, to create a window, placing one of the collectables inside the 'window' of the card.
Heres a view of the 'window', and the inside of the card. I always decorate the inside of a card it helps finish it off, but also provides enough support to keep it standing up when the front is heavy. Each card I make always comes with a matching envelope - don't know what on earth I did before the envelope maker was here!
The close up of the cluster shows you how many layers there are to it - a bit of silver bling on the wreath ties in the silver fronds of the cluster.
My second card actually came together quite quickly, I already knew what I wanted to do, but thats not always the case! I've gone with a non-traditional colour scheme here and adapted it to my theme. I love the bit of a punch the black gives to it :)
My cluster this time uses Spellbinders Poinsettia die, and Ive made them from white cardstock, inked the edges to make them stand out more and added some bling for the stamens. The baubles are also cut from cardstock - two dies layered on top of each other and to give them a bit of a kick Ive painted on BoBunny Glitter Paste. To provide depth instead of the card looking flat, Ive layered different elements using foam tape.
I hope Ive given you some ideas to get the mojo flowing :) By the way, the Christmas bauble die (Memory Box) and the Glitter Paste are available in the shop!
Jessica with you again today. Did you know it's exactly 4 weeks until Christmas? Time to start preparing if you haven't already!
Today I am sharing my fancy cards, for week 3 of the Christmas Countdown. These cards are made using the Teresa Collins Tinsel & Company patterned papers, a collection full of gold, silver and deep red. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Gold, silver and white is an elegant combination.
A lovely floral Christmas wreath.
Silver, white and deep red is also an elegant combination.
Good day, Christine S. here. We’re only a few more weeks away until Christmas. I don’t know about you but ever since I had my children, time always seems to fly in a snap. This week is Artfull Crafts’ 3rd week of their Christmas Countdown, & it’s all about fancy cards. I created with 3 different Kaisercraft Christmas collections for the countdown, & I came up with a card for each collection. The first card features Yuletide collection (I’ve also made a Christmas album with it from last week, too):
The second one features the North Pole collection:
Last but definitely not the least is my favourite Christmas card & collection, Basecoat Christmas:
I'm sure there's a Christmas collection from the Artfull Crafts' shop that will tickle your fancy. Have you made your cards yet? Don't forget to load them up at the competition gallery for your chance to win some goodies. Have a good day!
