Hi everyone Bev here - I have not shared for awhile! Today I am showcasing an album I created using the Scrapyard Collection by Kaisercraft and fitting with the theme of the month the base of the album is toilet rolls!
First you need to collect your toilet rolls which did not take me long in our house of five! I then flattened them as much as I could with a scorer tool. Another idea would be to flatten them under a heavy object for a few days. I then covered both flattened sides with cardstock and Scrapyard patterned paper. Then I added my embellishments. These include Tim Holtz idea-ology items, charms, doily, twine and more. The Inkling I used was the Steam punk one that is so cool. I coloured it with a water brush dipped in ink.
I created the tags that fitted into the flattened rolls with matching cardstock and Scrapyard patterned paper. I then inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress ink. The album is held together with a binding ring decorated with ribbon.
Here is the cover:
Here are the decorated pages:
I really enjoyed this album and love this collection by Kaisercraft. Thanks for looking!
Have a great weekend!
Hi Louise here with you today to share a card made with one of the recent Wild Rose Studio stamp additions to the Artfull Crafts shop, "Raining Roses"
I am so stoked to be back on the team here at Artfull Crafts and I had so much fun making this card to share with you.
I have used papers from the Kaisercraft "Aloha" collection, I layered them onto plain white cardstock. I added a piece of Cerise organza ribbon for some texture before layering on my image....
I stamped the image with Memento Ink which is safe to use with alcohol markers as it doesn't bleed and won't ruin your marker tips. I used Chameleon YG3 spring meadow to colour the umbrella and copics to colour the rest of the image. I have had my copics for a while and I colour without really having to think about it now but the chameleon was a whole different beast. This pen is amazing but definitely takes a little practice to feel comfortable with blending but once you get it, oh my goodness!!!! What would normally use 3 or 4 markers can be accomplished with one marker. Which is a total cost saving :)
Hi there, how's it going? Christine S. here posting 3 cards featuring different Kaiser collections, from the new to not so new. Let's start with the not so new, earthy colors of the Wanderlust collection. This travel card was inspired by a song I heard from the radio, London Calling. When I heard it playing, it inspired me to get crafty & this is what I came up with:
Looking at this card makes me want to travel to London! Check out the Wanderlust collection here.
Next up features All That Glitters collection which came out a couple of months ago, which has soft pretty colors. I was originally going to make a simple card. Let's just say that didn't go to plan (lol!).
Gold foil, gold glitter, mint green & pink...so feminine & on trend! Check out the All That Glitters collection here.
Last but definitely not the least is the latest Say Aloha collection. Bright & colorful, you'll definitely take notice just like a hot pink flamingo!
A card that will definitely brighten up someone's day. Do check out the Say Aloha collection here.
Only a couple of months away until SENZ...woohoo! There's heaps of awesome classes and crafty shopping on offer. Artfull Crafts has different classes which can be booked online here. Both album & card classes look amazing, so make sure to have a good look.
Don't forget about our May toilet roll challenge here. We're loving all the entries so far. Thanks for popping in & enjoy the rest of your month.
Gorjuss has arrived at Artfull Crafts and she is so cute. Juanita and I think so anyway and I guarantee you will also fall in love with her. Today I am sharing cards made using the stamps, then colouring in using my Kaiserfusion Alcohol Pens. Must say, I'm not up to the expert's standard, but one just does one's best!! What's your thoughts ladies.
The stamps come with a number of different elements, one being the oval frame. The outside frame I have cut using Spellbinders, Majestic Labels 25.
Spellbinders, 5 X 7 Reflective Moments was used to cut the outside border on this card. Artfull Crafts have got some rather pretty flowers in stock at the moment, which I couldn't resist adding. They sure don't last long, so do check out the website.
Things are starting to get exciting at Artfull Crafts, as we are preparing for the big SENZ Expo which is in Auckland again, this year. Liz and I are both doing classes, so I am really looking forward to that - it is great to catch up on all the lovely ladies we have previously met and become friends with. For my card class, we are going to use the gorgeous BETSY'S COUTURE collection, which I am so proud of. Thanks goes again to Kaisercraft, for naming this range of fabulous papers after me. I do feel very honoured.
The week before, Liz, Graham and I are heading to Australia for the Kaisercraft's Retailers Days in Geelong, which we thoroughly enjoy. We have made so many friends over there and it is always great to see them again. Look out Australia, here we come!
Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting all and many blessings,
1st page opens upwards with 2 pockets to put tags in.
2nd page opens to the right then righthand flap opens up.
3rd page opens right and out with a pocket to put tags in.
The last page opens down and the flap on the right is the back cover.
It will then fit nicely into this box with a lid!
I used the kraft and seabreeze papers from this Collection and also the 6x4 cards. I made the album from one piece of white cardstock. Here is a utube video showing you how to make it. These papers didn't come with any Collectables but I was able to use last March's All that Glitters ones to embellish with. It is surprising what you can mix & match with Kaisercraft collections! I made the box using the WRMK giftbag punch board, I just didn't do the scoring on the sides and just adjusted my measurements to fit the album. The lid is just slightly bigger so fits over the bottom part easily.
So there you go, I am on a bit of a mini album roll at the moment - thanks to Debbie A and Liz. Have you seen the mini album Liz is doing for SENZ? I think she will have it available as a kit for those who can't make it as well.
Hello! :) Lisa here, with a quick post sharing a couple of layouts featuring one of last month's Kaisercraft releases- the lovely Chase Rainbows. The collection has lots of colour and pattern, so is pretty versatile.
I've used black cardstock as a base for my first layout-- the black helps anchor the mix of colours and helps them to pop off the page. I decided to use a black and white photo as well, so it wouldn't end up competing against the variety of colours in the papers and embellishments.
I punched circles from several of the papers to get a good mix of designs and patterns, then added some of the Collectables, a couple of border die cuts from the paper pad, some bling and a lime green doily (to echo the doilies from the collectables used along the edge of the photograph.)
My second layout has white cardstock as a base, upon which I've used some Marion Smith Color Lab pigment paint with a Tim Holtz stencil on the left. This was an experiment which turned out surprisingly well, and I'm happy with the result. (isn't it great when that happens?!) I matched the teal/blue colour of the pigment paint with a similar coloured piece of patterned paper from the small paper pad, hand-cut to show off the curves in the design. I backed the photograph with two different patterned papers from the range, layered on top of each other.
Some splashes and splatters of indian ink, some bling, a few butterflies fussy-cut from one of the speciality sheets, along with a collectable and some floral washi tape finish it all off. :)
You can find the Chase Rainbows collection instore or online here.
As always, thanks for looking, and I'll see you again soon.
Good morning! Its Melissa here and today I'm back to share two layouts I made with the Kaisercraft "Say Aloha"collection. This collection is a tropical and fun with bright colours and of course the most trendy bird in crafting right now - the Flamingo!
My first layout is all based around the die cut "Be A Flamingo in a flock of Pigeons" and I immediately though of a photo I had of my oldest two kids taken last June. They both decided to randomly put their googles on and posed for a quick iPhone photo! I applied gesso behind my layers and then used the packaging technique to apply mist.
This die cut from the Collectables was also perfect for this page.
Here is a close up of that die cut!
The "These Moments"title is from a leftover piece of paper that isn't from the collection, but was suitable for the colours and photo.
My second layout is of my oldest daughter at school athletics last year. I had already scrapped the event, so for this layout chose to write my journalling as a letter. This month we are using toilet rolls in our crafting, so I decided to use a roll with some paint mixed with mist to create layered circles on my background.
Once the paint was dry I layered up some labels that I cut out of the 6x6 paper pad with a die on my Cuttlebug. I focussed on using pink and green.
All die cuts are either from the collectables, or from the punch-outs at the back of the 6x6 paper pad. I love that Kaisercraft include these in their pads.
I layered up die cuts and some special embellishments around the photo.
I outlined all of my label die cuts, and the edge of the white cardstock. The background paper is an old piece of Echo Park Paper from my stash.
My daughter had specifically told me she wanted the large silver bling embellishment on her page.
I added some watercolours in complimentary colours around the layout, and added some stamping at the end. Of course I had to add some India ink to tie the page together.
Thanks for looking! You can purchase the Say Aloha collection in the shop here.
Hi there Christine B here - today I have a card set using Kaisercraft's Back to Basic papers. These papers come in various colours, but for my card set I went with just the kraft papers and paired them with white card.
I made 2 of each design to end up with a set of 6 cards. Here is the first card.....
I used a couple of Taylored Expressions dies - the 3x4 card and the circle hello.
For this card I used a few more dies and made my own kraft flowers with the MFT rolled roses die. I haven't used this die for a while and had forgotten how easy they are to do, especially if you roll them up on a quilling tool!
For this 3rd card I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut out the white card. I have used the same paper for each card's background, all use white cardstock, kraft coloured bakers twine and brass metal embellishments.
They fit nicely into this paper bag I have made....
This bag is made from 1 and 1/2 pieces of 12x12 patterned paper, cut out using the gift bag punch board. The 6 cards and envelopes fit in perfectly. A few more kraft rolled flowers to finish it off.
I will be back next week with some more Back to Basics - I have quite enjoyed working with it and really like the dots and stripes!
Good morning ladies. Betsy here this morning to share the cards that we made last Wednesday, at the card class. A lovely lot of ladies turned up and we had an enjoyable time, just playing. Of course we were working with a stunning collection from Kaisercraft, Oh So Lovely. They are bringing out some lovely ranges, as is their usual style, and Artfull Crafts has them all. Sorry about the shadows on the card, but as the weather gets colder I am trialling my photography inside - I still have a bit of practice to go, as you can see!
At class we usually make one intricate card, that is with a different fold etc, then one which is simpler. The first is a tri-fold card cut slightly different. I was thrilled with how it turned out and the ladies were as well. It is always nice to get positive feedback!
For the second one, I brought out one of the older embossing folders, a Martha Stewart punch and "hey presto" a very simple get well or sympathy card.
That's it today ladies. The sun is streaming in the office here and I must say it has got a lot of warmth behind the glass. Our Summer seems to be lasting a longer than is usual, thankfully.
Happy crafting ladies, trust you will get some ideas for your future projects.
Blessings to all,
Good day, Christine S. here. How's it going? Got any plans this weekend? My grandmother in law is having her 85th birthday celebration today, & we'll be heading out for lunch & catch up with family which is always nice. I'm sure she'll have a great time catching up with her great grandchildren, seeing how much they've grown up.
I love the fact that this month's sketch has more than 1 photo in it. Here's my take on it:
I reckon the Say Aloha collection & this month's sketch challenge is a perfect match for me! I've used half each of the Pina Colada & Palm papers to balance the busy pattern with a solid contrast.
I applied some gel medium mixed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Pretty In Pink Magical Powder through a Lattice template. I like the subtle effect it gives through printed papers. The color will be more visible on plain white cardstock. I stamped some stains with the Chase Rainbows clear stamps. They're great for adding effortless stains on your page!
Of course, most of my work will have touches of Tattered Angels on them. In here I've misted the Gold Glimmer Mist throughout the page. It really does pop on the black top half of the layout. Aren't the Collectables & Sticker Sheet pieces fun?
I hope you enjoyed that, I had heaps of fun creating it. It really does reflect my daughter's personality...colorful, bright & bubbly, always wanting to stand out! Check out the Say Aloha collection here, & do join us this month for our challenges as well here.
Thanks heaps for dropping in & we can't wait to see all of your beautiful entries. :)
Hi there, Christine S. here. Happy Mother's Day to all moms! I hope you're being spoiled & pampered today. I'm having an awesome one, as my family has let me sleep in this morning, such a treat for me since motherhood started. Then I woke up to a table set with pink roses & the smell of butter & freshly cooked pancakes with berries & maple syrup on top. If only every morning can be like this. We're having a nice relaxing day & I thought I'd post a layout I finished last night featuring the new super fun Say Aloha collection.
Here's my daughter & niece showing us how to do the flamingo stand. The Tiki Hut specialty paper was cut in half & layered on top of each other on the Island paper.
I've used the sun rays on the Geo Quarters template with a gel medium, then some splash of Marigold (Tattered Angels) glimmer mist was added.
Some Frangipani flowers, & fun Stickers & Collectables are added throughout the photo for the finishing touches. Remember you get a FREE pack of Frangipani flowers for every $20 you spend at the Artfull Crafts shop, so don't forget to pop that in your shopping cart!
Perhaps you've got some tropical vacation photos that need scrapping, or if you're wanting some fun & colorful flamingos, sunny & tropical touches to your creations...then check out the Say Aloha collection. You get a 15% off discount for the full Say Aloha collection, & 10% off the full Paper collection. Thanks for popping in, & have a great Mother's Day! :)
