This year sure has flown by ..... 4 more sleeps to Christmas ...
Here is a Christmas layout featuring the lovely Kaisercraft Silent Night range .... lovely range in all the traditional Christmas colours of reds and greens. Sifting through my photographs I came across this photo of my daughter. This was our first Christmas in New Zealand - Dec 2010. It allowed me to reflect back on 6 wonderful years we have had in New Zealand. And here we are again at Christmas and so much has changed and happened since then - and it has been an incredible journey.
I have used various papers and cut 1 cm strips from these - and then distressed the edges. Lay the strips randomly - alternating between greens and reds. I then used red and green twine, drawing a circle with liquid glue and sticking down the twine to make a circular frame. Three frames were cut from green, red and green cardstock and adhered. I then layered flowers and some of the collectables from the Silent Night range in between. I finished off the edge of the layout with some washi tape.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a wonderful festive season. Safe travels if you are travelling.
Today, I'm sharing with you some sweet treat bags and boxes I created with scraps from the Kaisercraft Glisten Collection, but again you could use any paper. At Christmas I do like to give sweet treats to friends and colleagues who have helped and supported me or my family over the year.
It's easy to create these little boxes and tags, with stamps and left overs from your stash.
Happy Christmas everyone, may your holidays be filled with love and joy.
Hi There, It's such a busy time of year - but I finally got chance to play with Kaisercraft Glisten Collection; so elegant and lovely to use for all sorts of Christmas crafts. But you could create these 3D cards using any paper you have in your stash.
Using those wooden trays that chipboard is often sold in, I created these 2 3D Christmas cards, that can be used as wall hangings or door greetings.
I had such fun creating them, and I think they just make a change to give your loved ones something they can keep.
I also used a whole heap of Prima flowers from my stash.
Love that Black, gold and red colour combo.
I'm nearly on track now for Christmas - just 6 sleeps to go !!!
My Sisters Scrapper has an excellent video tutorial which you can see here to make this album.
I have made this to put my Christmas photos in for this year or I might just leave it to show off these gorgeous Christmas papers!! I think making a mini album each year is a nice idea as each December you can bring them out to look at and put them away after!
For the cover I used 2 12x12 papers and the rest of the papers are from the paper pad. A few Artfull Embellies to decorate and I am done!
Remember there is 40% off Christmas Collections at the moment!
Today I thought I would share the cards I recently designed for the Christmas Card Kit. Apologies to the ladies who have either bought or done the kits with us, over the past weeks. I must admit this perhaps is my all time favourite Christmas Collection from Kaisercraft, called Frosted. I love the colours and the vintage feel of this range.
An easel card and we handmade the rosette.
This card is called a Double Z- Side Pull Card - very easy to make and most effective. Check the web for a tutorial if you would like to have a go at this one.
A simple 5 1/4" square card, just making use of the gorgeous papers and the images that come with this range.
What did we do before we had Spellbinders circle dies or any dies for that matter!!Yes it was fun cutting these out and we have used the Tattered Lace Poinsettia Die to cut the flowers and leaves.
Kaisercraft bought out this window die with the shutters at the side - the possibilities are endless! For the background I cut a stencil out using their brick die, then I stencilled the white card using sepia ink. Rather liked the effect.
Lucky last ladies. This is a great way of using 5/8" scrap strips don't you agree!
That's it today. Thanks so much for taking the time to check this out and remember Artfull Crafts have all their Christmas stock at 40% off, at the moment - you can't go wrong with that.
I have used papers from the Silent Night paper pad, the ornament has been diecut from a Spellbinders ornament die and I have diecut out the centre and added another Spellbinders- Medallion One- diecut behind.
For these last 2 cards I haven't used any patterned paper except for the bow. I have used silver paper and diecut and embossed white cardstock. The wreath diecut is from a Kaisercraft die and the bottom one uses a Sue Wilson die-The Australian Background.
Gosh, the time is just flying by, here we are already just 3 weeks from Christmas.
Silent Night
Today, I'm sharing with you a little gift set of cards, tags and gift box made with the lovley more traditional Christmas Kaisercraft Silent Night Collection.
Cards
So easy to create cards and tags with Kaisercraft collections. Heaps of traditional goodness in the Silent Night collection.
tags
These tags were created using the die cuts, and trinkets and jazzed up with some left over lace and foil washy tape.
Christmas Wishes is a gorgeous range of pastel pinks, purples and greens with a hint of gold foil and shimmers thrown in. Makes me want to rethink the colour scheme for my Christmas tree this year.
No Kaisercraft collection is complete without the set of co-ordinating collectable embellishments. Shimmering baubles, tags and sentiments.
This collection is so cute and sweet. I love to make albums as a gift for a new baby.
I have kept it quite simple as the papers are so beautiful, so have embellished with a few silver trinkets and made good use of the strip along the bottom of the 12x12 papers. I made my own tags to go in the pockets and used some washi tape to decorate them.
I have found this year to have gone incredibly fast - I cannot believe Christmas is just around the corner - in fact, I think I saw somewhere that we have 4 more Sundays to Christmas?? So why not get right into the Christmas spirit, using the gorgeous Kaisercraft Glisten range. Silver, gold .. all that glitters ... just love it!
The album was created using papers all from the 6x6 Glisten paper - these were used for background papers and creating pockets. Die cuts are from the Collectables range as well as from some of the pages in the 6x6 paper pad. Below are just a few photos of some of the pages in the mini album.
The flap in the picture in the left here was created using washi tape - I laid strips of washi tape across the piece of cardstock to create the back ground (great way to use up washi tape too). The star is a wooden embellishment which is painted with silver paint. The word love is just one of the lovely pieces from the Collectables of this range.
Why not pop over and have a look at the other lovely Kaisercraft Christmas ranges available at Artfull Crafts - Silent Night and Christmas Wishes. I will post something on the blog using these gorgeous ranges soon.
Enjoy the rest of the week - and the glorious sunny weather!
Betsy here this morning - yes, I am still part of Artfull Crafts design team! For how much longer I don't know, as I haven't been pulling my weight very well lately. Anyway, my conscience has got the better of me, so here we are.
Today I thought I would share a couple of cards made with the lovely "ooh la la" collection from Kaisercraft, which came out for October. It is stunning and the colour palette is my favourite.
This is a very popular shaped card just now - it is called a Twist and Pop Card and many tutorial can be found on the web. For this one I have added a belly band as it holds it together very nicely. The cabochon is beautiful and was one of my buys at SENZ.
This is the open version of the card and you can see, a lot of the collectables from the collection have been used. It is a fun card to make and of course "ooh la la" is just perfect for it.
Another simple card, made again with "ooh la la". The lovely lady is a chipboard image and to be honest, I can't remember where it was procured. One's memory is not as good as it used to be!!
That's it today, sorry for my tardiness but I will try and do better. By the way Artfull Crafts have this super collection in stock, I know you won't be disappointed.
Hello, hello! Long time, no posts from me- I have recently got a second job (besides working in the shop at Artfull Crafts) and time is always seeming to get away on me. However, I'm here now with some time to spare, so I thought I'd share a few layouts that I have made recently. (Because no matter what, I always make sure I find the time to play with crafting goodies. Priorities, y'know!)
First up, a couple of layouts using a Kaisercraft release from a few months back: Barber Shoppe. It's a lovely masculine-themed range in shades of blue, pale green and black & white, featuring great vintage imagery. I used a favourite picture of my husband (taken at Lake Tekapo) and put together this page.
It's pretty quick and easy- a piece of 12x12 kraft cardstock, which I misted with a light brown Lindy's Stamp Gang spray, before adding my photo on top. I then clustered a selection of the Collectables to the side, and added a couple of wooden embellishments amongst them (cogs and a clock.) To finish, some strips of washi, and a couple of flicks of black indian ink.
My second layout was a challenge to myself: to use the same range to make a more feminine-style layout.
I layered some of the papers on top of a sheet of 12x12 black cardstock, distressing the edges to add some dimension. I placed my photo on the right, and built up layers of texture using embellishments such as Collectables, paper flowers, metal charms, some hessian, buttons, and a few pieces of bling, sticking to the same tones as in the papers. Some torn washi tape and a spatter of white ink finishes it all off. :) Not overly girly, but a good showcase of just how versatile this range is, I think. You can find the Barber Shoppe goodies here.
And that's it! I'll be back again later with a couple more layouts using some of the many Christmas papers currently in the shop. Thanks for looking! :)
Hi there, Diane here again. A few months ago I learnt how to make a never ending card. There are many videos with instructions on You Tube if you want to make one. My kids are hooked and make then too. After making quite a few of these cards I decided to try make a large one as a mini travel album with the idea of making a few from my travels and then creating a suitcase at some stage to store them in.
Once I had the base of the never ending card I matted each space with black card stock to strengthen the card and to make the photos/paper pop a little.
I made little pockets on one page of the card to insert tags of which I journaled on. It was great to see that I could display a number of photos over 3 panels to show off the panorama of Hong Kong.
Even though there were little squares which where too small for the photos I could use them for embellishments and titles.
All I have to do now is to get motivated and make the rest of the cards and the suitcase to fit them all in. Hope you enjoyed this post. Happy scrapping, Diane
