Melissa - Kaisercraft Mistletoe

Hello!  Its Melissa here and I'm back with some Christmas inspiration for you today.  I got to work with Kaisercraft's new Mistletoe collection, which is fun and colourful.  The papers are lovely, and if the A sides are too "themey", the B sides are perfect.

I decided to scrap a whole pile of photos that I had left from our Christmas in 2012.  If you know me well you'll know that Christmas in our family isn't about the presents, but is about celebrating our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  However, my Mother in law had taken these photos of the presents being opened, and as I had already scraped other pages about the day, I thought Project Life style would be the best way to scrap these photos.

The pocket page protector (and Winter sun) always makes it difficult to get good photos, even with my DSLR so any advice is welcome.

I used the papers, cut apart sheets, collectables and stickers to embellish my pockets.  I trimmed all my photos down so that I could feature patterned paper behind each photo.

Thanks for looking.  You can see close up photos on my blog, and you can purchase the Mistletoe collection in the online shop here.

See you in September!

Christine - Outdoor Trail Cards

Hi there - Christine here today with some cards using Kaisercraft's Outdoor Trail Collection......

This collection is great for male cards especially those who love the outdoors and are into hunting and fishing! The collectables that come with the collection make it easy to embellish the cards.  I have also used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out, of black cardstock, the deer, fishing rod and the gone fishing title.

Happy Creating!

Betsy - Three Birthday Cards.

Betsy here this morning to share with you some birthday cards that I have produced lately. A couple of these are orders but the second one is for a very special friend.

A simple 5 1/4" card made with the lovely Prima, Stationer's Desk collection. Mavis apparently plays bridge, so I have added the playing cards. The die I have used is Spellbinder's Lotus. I do hope Mavis liked her card.

We all love Marla and I did enjoy putting this card together for her. It is made with the Authentique Classique "Pretty" which is very pink and if you like pink you will so enjoy using this collection. It also has black and grey as well as a very soft green.

For the final card today I decided I would like to use blue, hence this is another Authentique collection called "Strong". It is a male range but it just shows how it can be adapted for ladies. I was pleased with how it turned out and apparently Maree was, as well.

Remember to check out Artfull Crafts web site - there are always lots going on and we wouldn't like you to be the one that misses out on all the fun!!

Happy crafting ladies and many blessings,

Betsy.

Lisa - Mix & Match

Hello, hello! Lisa here again, this time with a couple of layouts to share that I've made using Kaisercraft's Mix & Match range. The base colours for this line are kraft, white & red, which look fabulous together as well as combined with other colours and patterns.

My first layout has a sheet of kraft cardstock as a base, paired with the flipside of the Postage Stamps sheet, featuring a corrugated cardboard pattern. I chose a picture of myself and my husband (in which we're not pulling goofy faces for once-- that's definitely something worth preserving, if nothing else!) and beside it, a Project Life card featuring similar tones to the rest of the page.

Other bits and pieces used: a doily (cut in two), ribbon, some gorgeous dusty pink Kaisercraft flowers, a silver mesh flower that I've had in my stash for so very long I can't recall where it came from, some wooden veneer pieces ( Studio Calico) and some little bunting flags cut from a larger sheet of patterned paper. The red lace heart on the right was cut from the Hearts sheet.

a closer look:

My second layout features darker tones, and shows off just how versatile this range is. I've used my old faithful grid style arrangement once again, and punched out a variety of squares from the assorted patterned papers, then arranged them onto a chocolate brown cardstock background along with a single photo of my daughter.

I love how, although all the patterns are very different, they work together beautifully because of their shared colour palette.

I've embellished some of the squares with wood veneers (of course!), a polka-dotted butterfly, and a tiny red fabric heart. On the largest square at the top, I've popped one of the Lacy tags, tied with a little red and white twine, and raised from the background with some mounting foam. A word strip (cut from the selvedge edge of one of the papers) along the bottom of the layout and a little veneer arrow, and it's all done. :)

Here's a slightly closer look:

And that's it! :) Mix & Match is such a great range, and you can find it in the store here.

That's all for me for now-- I'll be back again a little later in the month with some more creations. Thanks for looking, and have a fabulous day! :)

Cheers,
 Lisa

Valou - "Wedding's Card"

Hello everybody!

Valou here with a wedding's Card!

To realize this card, I used papers "Kaisercraft", collection "Pitter Patter" and some paper " Bazzil Cardstock Blanc ".

I used an image " Sassy Studio Designs " which you can find HERE.

I colorized it in the following way:

- Ink "Distress Tattered Rose" and "Distress Vintage Photo" for the skin.
- Ink "Distress Antique Linen" and "Distress Brushed Corduroy" for hair.
- Ink "Distress Rashed Strawberry".
- Ink "Distress Pumice Stone".
- Pencil watercolor black.
- Glitter Stickels Diamond.

Under the image, I added of the very wide white lace. Then, I stuck a band of paper which I drilled with a puncher border "Martha Stewart". Finally, I added a piece of ribbon " white Organza " and a piece of white lace finer than the first one.

I realized a banner with a fall of paper and a dies " Landt Craft " and just above, I added the following flowers:

- Big foam pink rose.
- Cloth white flowers.
- Pink Rose (15 mm).
- Die-cuts "leaves" realized with a dies "Lily Of The Valley".

For the rest of the decoration, I added:

- A wooden heart " Live and Love Craft ".
- A die-cut "Flowers" of the same collection " Kaisercraft ".
- Butterflies realized with a dies " Joy! Craft ".

And here is for the explanations!

I thank you for your passage and wish you an excellent day! Bye for now!

Hugs,

Melissa - Kaisercraft Mix & Match

Happy Friday!  It's Melissa here and I've had some fun this week creating with the fun new Mix & Match range from Kaisercraft.  This range is contemporary in style, and is kraft based papers with pops of white, red and navy.  The embellishments include tags, actual doilies and small clothes pins, and the stickers have hearts, banners and more doilies.  When I first looked at my package of goodies I immediately thought off the page projects, which are more of a challenge for me as I love my traditional 12x12 layouts!

Liz had included a couple of bags, so I decided to decorate them as gift bags.  For both bags I layered a doily, tag, butterfly stickers, twine and fabric embellishments.

For this bag I focussed on white with kraft.  The "Love" is part of a border sticker that I cut apart.

For the glassine bag I went for white and kraft with a pop of red.

My baby daughter had been given some booties in this cute kraft star box. I always knew I wanted to alter it, but I wasn't sure what product I'd use.

One of the papers had a lot of saying on it, so I cut apart the "Pretty Little Things", matted it on white card stock, then popped it up over the sticker doily, and added the butterfly and fabric flower.

Of course I had to make a layout too, and decided to use the latest sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  These photos went perfectly with the collection, and once again I focussed on white and kraft with a pop of red.  These are photos of my husband and daughters on a walk/bike around the Arrow River track in Arrowtown in July.

You can purchase Mix & Match in the shop here.

Thanks for looking, see you later in the month.

Lisa: Mistletoe layout.

Good morning! (Albeit a slightly chilly one, though it looks as if the sun is trying to peek out. Fingers crossed!) Lisa here, with a recent layout I've made, using one of the August ranges from Kaisercraft: Mistletoe. Yup, a Christmas range already! But, because I'm nothing if not contrary (haha!) I decided that I was going to challenge myself to use the design to put together a NON-Christmas layout. It was actually surprisingly easy, which I think is testament to the versatility of Kaisercraft's designs. Plus, it's always fun to set yourself a challenge and see what you can come up with by thinking outside of the box. :)

Anyway, enough rambling-- my non-Christmas Christmas layout is below. :)

The patterned paper I used was picked because to my eye, it has a groovy kind of "retro" feel to it. I paired it with white cardstock as a base, and a recent shot of my husband and daughter at a rest area on the way to Fairlie. The "joy" letters were cut from one of the Collectables into individual letters so I could place them where I wanted on the page.

On the bottom right of the photograph, I placed a selection of offcuts from various other papers I'd worked with in the past, keeping to a limited palette. It's a great way of using up leftovers-- on my desk, I have a little tin I use specifically for this purpose: any scraps that are too nice to throw away get stashed away in there for use in future projects. Waste not, want not, as my dear Nana used to say. ;)

A couple of Kaisercraft Mini Paper Blooms (love those!) and another offcut featuring a map (to tie in with the loose "travel" theme) adds some interest to the left-hand corner.

Lastly, here's a closeup of the "joy" letters, along with a couple of Studio Calico wood veneers to finish things off.

And that's it-- my non-Christmas layout using some of the Mistletoe range! :) Lots of fun to put together, and it's ispired me to try and use other "themed" papers to create non-themed layouts. Why not have a try at something similar to join in with this month's theme of Colours and Costumes, and then upload it to the gallery so we can all be inspired? Great prizes to be won: your own pack of goodies from the Mistletoe collection! :)

I'll be back later in the month to share what I've made with another of the August releases: the fab Mix and Match. Until then, thanks for looking, and have a wonderful day (the sun's come out as I've been typing this. Yay!)

Cheers,
Lisa :)

Betsy - Card Kit for August.

Betsy here this morning to share the August Card Kit which is made with the gorgeous Pitter, Patter Collection from Kaisercraft - it is a lovely baby range of papers etc. The kit is now available at Artfull Crafts. Don't you love those little Inklings that are a speciality of Artfull Crafts - all ready printed onto colour paper, so as to be coloured. I have used my Kaiserfusion alcohol pens to colour this image. There are a large variety of images to choose from - Ella's brother is a very talented artist!

That's it this morning ladies. Sorry my photography seems to be a little out of focus this morning but do hope you can still get an idea of what is in the kit. Liz is always generous with the products for these kits, hence there is still many more cards etc that can be made with left over bits and pieces.

Happy crafting all and many blessings,

Betsy.
