Ma Cherie and Generations layouts

Hello happy scrappers

To continue this weeks pages with no photos yet.....here are some pages using the Ma Cherie collection from Kaisercraft , and the Generations collection, also from Kaisercraft.

This first page is using the Ma cherie collection. What is not to love about this pretty collection of papers!! This range will be perfect for pages of the women in your life, a romantic entanglement, sweet girls or even heritage pages. The papers  available in this collection could also be used for more masculine pages, by omitting the floral and pink papers....a very versatile collection I would say.

Next, we have the collection called "Generations"

I have made companion pages for my album ....one for Grandmother and the other for Grandfather. Throughout this collection are lots of family themed papers and embellies designed to create that family history album you have often thought about but never quite got round to!!!! I found the quotes on these pages to be very special!

Thats it for me today.
Have a great time scrapbooking your family history......remember to obtain the stories from your loved ones now before its too late.....and to document those stories for the generations to come.

Happy scrapping

Holy Night - Christmas theme with Sharon

Hi everyone.

Back again today with a second Christmas line from Kaisercraft.
This time I am working with the Kaisercraft Holy Night range of papers. These are the more traditional Christmas colours of red and green.

Once again, I have been prepping pages for my Christmas album, and have two layouts all ready for just a photo addition. The third page, I have used some of the papers from this collection to showcase some photos from my most favourite cathedral in the world St Chapelle in Paris. The stained glass paper worked well with the theme of my photographs, and just shows that just because a paper range is "Christmas" does not mean you cannot use it for other times of the year as well.

Here is the magnificent St Chapelle in all her glory ! I cut apart pieces from the Glory Paper with the stained glass windows as an embellishment.

The other two pages are without photos, as I said....ready for the Christmas rush to fade away and photos to be printed and filed in the album.

This first page is ready to display some Christmas cards in the lower pocket....essentially the card I make to send to friends and family, and maybe a couple of special ones as well.

This next page, is ready to have a 6x4 photo added to it when the time comes.

Thanks again for looking.
I will be back tomorrow again, with some more pages to share.

Cheers

Silver Bells with Sharon

Hi happy scrappers!

Hope you are all enjoying the spring weather we are getting at the moment, and setting aside some time for crafting.

Today I am sharing with you some pages I have done using the Kaiser craft Silver Bells collection
which in my opinion is one of the best Christmas ranges ever released!!! I love the soft colours in this collection, and the versatility of the prints.....you can easily use these for a winter or baby page....or anything in between!

The pages I am going to share with you, have no photos on them as yet..... I want to use them for our little granddaughters first Christmas photos, and I truly think the colours of these will be perfect! Often I find the garish green and red of traditional colours to be too harsh for baby photos, so I was very pleased to see the pinks silvers and blues in this range

Without further ado

Baby's First Christmas

In this page I used the papers to create a bit of a texture mat under the main chipboard mat, then added lace, ribbon, flowers and muslin to create a couple of clusters. The micro beads from prima are a really pretty addition, adding a bit of bling, but not being too over the top The prima beads come in a regular size and micro. The ones I have used are the micro beads, and I have added them to the page using prima gel medium.
The beads from prima can be found here, and the art basics gel medium here ( It looks like they are out of stock at the moment, but give the girls at the shop an email or call, and they may be able to source it for you)

I really love using chipboard in all my layouts, as I find they add layers without being too bulky. You can alter any chipboard by painting over it with a good coat or two of gesso, then colouring with your favourite medium such as smooch inks, sprays, gelato, watercolour pencils, or inks. For my frame here, I have used a couple of ink pads and blended with my fingers, then dabbed a little gesso over the top in spots to tone it down.

The second page in my Silver Bells Christmas pages

I have used the 12 x 12 die cut piece as a background and layered papers and smaller die cuts over the top. I used a large chipboard piece from my stash, which was naked chipboard, then covered in gesso, and finally silver ink.

Finally, one of my favourites!!

In this page I have ripped and layered 12x12 papers to create a background, then stencilled through a fine stencil using moulding paste/texture paste found here

Then I added layers of  the sticker sheet, here using the border designs, and finally chipboard and papers to mat the photo. All the chip was coated in white gesso, and the ripped edges of the papers were left to show the white core, plus the white texture paste to give a clean look.

Thanks for looking !!!

And don't forget to pop this collection in your basket to prepare pages which are just stunning for your Christmas photos this year!
I find that preparing pages such as these in advance of Christmas is a good way to get organised, so that only a photo need be added to the page, a little journalling, and its done. Too often, we are flat out after Christmas spending time with our loved ones, and the time in our craft rooms is a little less.

Only 57 days to go!!!!!

Cheers, and happy scrapping

Betsy - Christmas Card Class

Good morning all - Betsy here this morning to share three cards that we are going to be doing for our Christmas Card Class. There is six in all, in the kit, but will only show three today. The lovely Silver Bells is used and as Megan mentioned yesterday, it is stunning. I love the colour palette of this collection. Kaisercraft have done it again!

This card is a 5 1/4" square card, very simply made. You won't be stretched too far with this one, but I think it is lovely. Of course the papers do make it.

A tent fold card for this one using the Martha Stewart punch for the bottom of the card. Cherry Lyn Design Die, DL103 I have used to cut out the doily shape behind.

A gate fold card and I have used Spellbinders Oval Die for cutting the closing. So different from the traditional Christmas colours. I have a love affair with grey at the moment and it does go so nice with this range.

This class is going to be on the 6th November at Artfull Crafts, starting at 7 PM and it is always a fun time. Just notify the girls if you would like to come.

We are going to be there tomorrow morning as well, teaching another a Christmas Class, using the new range from Kaisercraft, Holly Jolly Collection. Would love to see you all, if possible. It is always an enjoyable morning, catching up with some lovely ladies, as well as achieving two cards.

Thanks for checking this out ladies, happy crafting to all and many blessings.

Betsy.

Silver Bells - Megan

Hi everyone!

Silver Bells!  Isn't it devine?!  And really its not my cup of tea, Im usually a traditional reds, greens and golds girl, but this collection knocked my socks off.  Its just stunning!!!

Ive got three cards to share with you today, and probably many more!

This first one is pretty simple, its just lots of layers really with chipboard in between each layer for dimension.  Ok it uses one of my all time addictions too, SNOWFLAKES!!  I just love snowflakes and I had been dying to use this one on the base. :)

Heres a close up of all those layers.  The snowflake dies Ive used are from Lawn Fawn and Memory Box.

Next up is a mixture of stamping, layering and ink splattering, its also a lot bigger than I would normally make.

The stamps are from my stash. The spray splatters are a mixture of BoBunny and Tim Holtz stain - Ive squished some out onto my craft mat and used a paint brush to pick it up and splatter it.

The last card today I can't take credit for.  Her name is Izabel Weron and she makes the most beautiful cards, so this one is a complete scrap lift .

The very top layer of bauble has been embossed but you can't pick that up in the top picture.  The leaves Ive curled slightly at the ends to give them more of a natural look - well as natural as you can be for a blue leaf! ;)

I hope this given you some inspiration to get a crack on with those Christmas cards!  Thanks for popping by :)

Christine S. - Fairy Dust

Good day! I hope this post finds you well.  Christine S. here sharing a Fairy Dust frame & card.  These were both given as a birthday present for my daughter's friend who loooooooves fairies.  I was stoked to get my hands on these fairy goodness just in time to create a little something for her.

006

I started with a plain wooden board & covered it with the Magic Wand paper.  I honestly cannot remember the name of this wooden piece as I've had it in my stash for awhile (I'm pretty sure it's Kaisercraft...as soon as I find out which one it is I will add it in this post).  A square has then been cut out of the Fairy Wishes paper & adhered with foam squares to house the photo to be framed.  We've got our sparkles going so we're onto a good start.  I then layered 4 different strips from the Sticker Sheet to the bottom of the frame.

014

Of course I've added a fairy that is about to blow fairy dust to her photo.  This magical fairy has been cut out from the Flutter silver foiled specialty paper.  You're definitely spoilt for choice with pretty fairies, butterflies & tiaras in this paper.  I've enhanced the fairy's wings by layering a couple of altered Kaisercraft Wood Flourishes & Sparklets.  A girl can never have enough shimmer & sparkle! It's all finished off by adding more butterflies from the same specialty paper, pieces from the Collectables, Sticker Sheet & a Happiness Rub On.

Last but not the least is a fairy birthday card to go with the frame.

018

It's all about the purples & lilacs in this fairy princess card.  I started off with a metallic purple card base & layered some Enchanted & Fairy Wishes paper with a purple doily in between.  I then added some itty bitty butterflies that I've cut out from the sticker sheet, Lilac Organza Ribbon, flowers & a lilac button from Artfull Embellies' Pastel Polka Dots Wooden Buttons. Voila!

Thanks so much for dropping in, & I hope you enjoyed my post today.  Don't forget to check out the super girly Fairy Dust collection here.  Have a great day! :)

Cheers,

Christine S.

Lisa - Ma Cherie layouts

Hello again! Lisa here, and this time I have a couple of layouts to share made with the utterly gorgeous Ma Cherie papers from Kaisercraft. This range really is stunning, and I loved creating with it.

Both of the layouts were made in honour of my 26th wedding anniversary, which just so happens to be today. I'm pretty fond of the guy in the pictures with me, even after all this time, and I suspect he thinks I'm kind of okay too, because he's still around after all these years. ;)

This first layout uses the Glamour paper as a background (love that distressed paint effect!) and I've layered some of the Frilly sheet on top, tearing the edges to add some texture. My photo is layered on top of that again, and I've added a selection of some of the Collectables on the left-- there are so many gorgeous flower images in the set that it was hard to pick which ones to use. The tag sentimment underneath the cluster is from the small paper pad, as is the scalloped grey border, and the "how sweet it is to be loved by you" sentiment on the right is another Collectable. I also added some touches of gold here and there using pieces from my stash. A spatter of indian ink, and all done!

A few close up shots:

My second layout has a piece of the Fancy paper as a base, with a sheet of the Beauty design from the small paper pad layered on top, with the edges rolled and inked. Again, my photo is layered on top of that, with an assortment of Collectables clustered together, this time on the right-hand side. Almost all of the embellishments I've used on both layouts come from a single pack of Collectables, and I still have plenty left over-- which makes them such a great buy.

On the top left, I've placed a doily, with yet another Collectable sentiment on top, and another few Collectables surrounding it. More indian ink spatters finish it all off. I wanted the layouts to be slightly different, yet with a common "theme" between them, and I think I managed to achieve exactly that. I also think the touches of grey and black in the range helps stop them tipping too far over onto the overly feminine side of things, which is always a bonus.

A few close-up shots below:

If you're looking for a stunning range of papers to create with, I think that Ma Cherie fits the bill perfectly. In fact, I'm pretty sure it'd be impossible to create anything short of a masterpiece with it! You can find Ma Cherie instore here.

Thanks for looking, and I'll see you again soon! :)

Cheers,
Lisa :)

Christine S. - Ma Cherie

Hi there, how's it going? Christine S. here posting for Artfull Crafts.  It's so nice to be back home & surprisingly I'm recovering from jet lag quite well (It ain't easy traveling with 2 kids!).  Today I'm posting 2 layouts with the beautiful Ma Cherie collection, so let's get on to it :).

Today Is Dress Up Day

The first layout features a single photo with a dark backdrop of the Dainty paper.  Under a couple of torn areas is the lovely gray floral print of the Beauty paper. I added some of Bo Bunny's Gold Glitter Paste through a stencil & some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists for the background, keeping to the gold, red & pink colors.

060

The paper layers behind the photo are Glamour, Fancy & the torn piece of Bamboo specialty gold foiled paper.  These papers are anchored by a strip of embossed lattice chipboard.

061

The cluster is made up of pretty Collectables die cuts, stickers from the Sticker Sheet, & a variety of Artfull Embellies (White Mini Doilies & Antique Bronze Large Leaves).  The mini paper flowers are available to purchase in the shop as well.  It's all finished off by adding some mini letter stickers for the title on top & some journaling at the bottom of the photo.

The second layout has prominent lighter colors & has a brighter feel to it inspired by the two fun photos.

Love My Sister

I started with a white cardstock & added a little touch of texture paste & glimmer mist in the middle to surround the pictures.  I then cut out the Elegant paper in a couple of pieces & adhered them to the sides.  I think that if you must only get 1 piece of paper from the Ma Cherie collection then this would be it...such a rich & beautiful fabric print.

041

The cluster is again made up of the die cuts from the collectables & pieces from the sticker sheet.  I've also added some cut out pieces from the Fine paper, I Am Roses Large White Paper Rose, & some Artfull Embellies to match my daughter's yellow dress (Pastel Polka Dots Wooden Buttons & Yellow Waxed Cord).

042

To finish this layout, I added a couple of the 12x12 paper's bottom strips beside the photos & at the bottom of the page.  I then added a variety of alpha stickers for the title & some journaling near the cluster.

So which layout do you like best? I personally love them both:).  If you're after feminine florals with a little Oriental touch, & a beautiful color palette of pinks, gray & burgundy, then you have to check out the gorgeous Ma Cherie collection here.  Thanks so much for dropping by.

Cheers,

Christine S.

Louise - A Sprinkle of Fairy Dust

Hi - happy Saturday everyone :) It is a lovely day here in Dannevirke so I am going to make this quick so I can get out in my garden.

One of the new releases for October is KaiserCraft's  Fairy Dust Collection, this is a really pretty collection with lots of purple and turquoise.  Very girly.

I have used a couple of the papers from the 6x6 paper pad for my card and added a punched border and lace doily for some texture under my image.
I have added some Bo Bunny Pearlescents around the edge of the card and on the outside of the image.
I have added some flowers and a butterfly from the Fairy Dust collectables pack.
The image is called Darla Dogwood and she is from Lacy Sunshine stamps .
I have coloured her with copic markers.

Thanks loads for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my card.

Home for Christmas - Megan

You would be forgiven for thinking I had left the DT - I haven't been around much of late with too many things happening in my own life, scrapping took a bit of a back burner, and now that things are back on more of an even keel I have more time to scrap :)
Its a bit photo heavy this post so be warned!  You might want to grab a cuppa first :)

The first collection I have been playing with is Home for Christmas.  Its a beautiful collection of rich greens, reds, cream and gold - a traditional Christmas collection.  And I love it :)

I bought this old lamp in a sale with no thought as to what I was going to do with it, but when I saw this collection I knew I was going to use it to decorate it.

Ive used some old Prima flowers from my stash and mixed them with poinsettias made form some of the gold and cream papers.  The twine ribbons were in my DT kit and are in shop - they're great for adding detail to a project and better yet you can fiddle with them and they stay put!

Whats Christmas without a card?  The first is pretty simple. I focused on the circular patterned and built the card up around that.  The saying has been removed and then added back in, on top of two different circle dies.

Every card needs an envelope too!  No quite sure what we did without envelope makers before now  ;) Do you spy one of the new Artfull Crafts Embellies?

For the second card I have used one of the 3x4 cut apart pieces and based my card around that.  Again simple but looks effective, and proves 3x4 aren't just for Project Life ;)

The last piece to show is a tag.  I wanted to create something monochromatic and with a bit of depth.  This time Ive gone with golds and creams - the poinsettias here are Spellbinders.

Thanks for popping by!
