Hello! Its Melissa here and today I'm sharing a layout I made with the beautiful Sweet Routine collection by Websters Pages. When I started planning my new baby's monthly album I decided I wanted to use one collection, to keep the album cohesive. Sweet Routine isn't a baby collection, but I think it is perfect for monthly baby layouts as it has gorgeous papers, and the chipboard and stickers are awesome for recording milestones.
Some close ups. The little onsie paper clip is from the Hello World collection, and the yoyo thickers are by Dear Lizzy.
You can purchase the Sweet Routine collection in the online shop here. If you're wanting an actual baby collection, Websters Pages also have the Hello World line, and I've included a couple of pieces in my album kit, including that onesie transparency. You can purchase it here.
Liz has asked us to share photos of our crafty spaces ... so here are a couple of mine. But first ... confession time ... so this is not what my space looks like at the moment ... this is what it looked like after I had a giant cleanup a couple of months ago.
I have a corner of our upstairs attic room which also doubles as our guest room, so it needs to be easy to organise and tidy up quickly if people are coming to stay for the weekend.
This is my favourite piece of furniture ... an old library catalogue drawer that I bought from a white elephant stall at a school fair. The drawers are perfect for storing my twine, washi, enamel dots and assorted tools and tapes.
On the shelf below the library drawers I have a stash of 7L Sistema containers which I use to store my Project Life cards and Snap cards. These containers are also excellent for storing my stamps and larger embellishments.
Right I think I am off to tidy my space so it looks more like the above photo again.
I don't mean to scare you ... but did you know that there is just under 14 weeks to go until Christmas?
This September collection release by Kaiser - Basecoat Christmas is perfect to purchase and use for those upcoming Christmas photos (or to scrap those photos from last year).
For the first simple layout I used a background of white cardstock and then used pieces cut from the Basecoat Christmas Glitter and Flora papers. I then stitched a piece of green ribbon to add texture to the page.
The second simple layout was constructed along the same lines as the first layout. I used the Christmas Bells paper as the base for the page and then added pieces cut from the Berry and Glitter papers. I again stitched ribbon and the holly diecut is from the Collectables pack.
Go and check out this collection in the shop and that will be one thing ticked off your Christmas 'to do' list.
Betsy here today to share where all the work gets done!! It will be just a short post as five of us "girls" are heading away for the weekend. A crafting weekend that is. The car is loaded and we are meeting up at 5 o'clock. It is always a fun time and as Monday is South Canterbury Anniversary Day, we are having another day this time. Food, fun and laughter and hopefully some cards on the sideline.
Liz has made the suggestion that we could share our crafting areas so I have taken a few photos while it is reasonably tidy - it's not always so!!
This is my card making corner seen from the doorway.
A front view of the desk and the shelves used to house all my wooden stamps but we have moved on from then. It is a great place to display not only my cards but ones that friends have kindly given me.
Now this is the view of where I do my patch working and you will also notice the E' Bosser and the Fuse Machine sits on this table. All very handy.
Lastly the other side of the room has a big double cupboard where I store all the card making requirements on one side and my patch work fabrics etc on the other. The wooden cupboard has more card making essentials and essentials they are!! I have recently had a declutter so things are not falling out again, as yet!! It is a very convenient room but I could always be persuaded to have a build on - not that my husband goes along with that one, mind you!
Must go and get myself organised and I want to do some printing out yet. Do hope you enjoy seeing my workspace. Happy crafting all, have a great weekend and many blessings.
Good morning! :) It's Lisa here again, and I hope you're all having a lovely Friday-- the weekend is so close I can almost taste it. Let's hope we get some lovely spring weather for it.
Today I'm sharing a couple of layouts I've made using Kaisercraft'sOutdoor Trail range, which is perfectly suited for all those pages featuring camping, fishing, hunting and other sporty pursuits. Having said that, here's where I admit that I have absolutely ZERO photographs of any of those activities, so I used the range to showcase general outdoors-y style pictures, and it worked perfectly for those, too. :)
My first layout has a general travel theme, based around a photo taken from the passenger seat while we were on a country drive one weekend. I used a mix of the Frontier and Bush papers as a background, along with a strip cut from the bottom of one of the sheets featuring a map pattern. All of Kaisercraft's papers feature a little "bonus" strip of pattern along the bottom edge, and they're fun to use on layouts and cards to add a little something extra, or to fill in a gap.
Around the edges, I've layered a selection of Collectables, ribbon, leaves, wooden veneers and other assorted ephemera from my stash. A couple of closer shots are below:
The second layout has a base of cream cardstock, which I've sprayed with mist. I've used the Bushpaper again--but this time, the botanical print side, with a photograph of my husband at the river on top of it.
I cut out the deer head and the half-compass images from the Hunt paper and arranged them around the photo, along with a variety of other embellishments in the same tones. I inked the wooden veneer heart with some Tim Holtz Walnutdistress stain, and the little bird on a branch veneer is from Prima. Some leaves, ribbon and Collectables round it all off.
Again, a couple of closer pictures:
And that's it! :) For those of you attending the Kaisercraft evening at the shop tonight, both of these layouts will be on display, should you want a closer look. For those of you further afield, the Outdoor Trail range is available here.
As always, thanks for looking, and I'll see you again later in the month.
It's challenge time! Let's have some fun this month, with some quirky themes. There are plenty of ways to win so we encourage you to join in and see if you can win some prizes...
September Challenge Theme - Spring and Show off your Space
I woke up with hayfever this morning. The 1st of September is already here and gone... That means spring has sprung! I feel a bit more invigorated during Spring and I've decided it's time for a craft room overhaul. But I need some ideas! So why don't you show off your scrap space this month and I'll show off mine. Load your projects into the Gallery for a chance to win.
Here was my space prior to the renovations... Does yours look this messy?!
Alternatively, how about selecting some colours from the images below and design a card, project or layout based on them.
Or finally you can use the sketch below as inspiration for any project you'd like. We look forward to seeing your creations.
