with this weeks themed item that I have created for you
So the theme is "Gift" - instantly I started thinking about exploding boxes and covered goods but then I remembered seeing a folded gift that I thought "PERFECT" for this theme. It is very easy and can have lots of photos added for the Grandparents, In Laws, Friends, or even that special Teacher
And incase you didn't realise I am in love with the Kaisercraft collection Silver Bells so again I have used this for this project.
This is what my "Gift" looks like from the front - I have used some of the larger chipboard flowers from the collectables pack along with a doily, silver netting and ribbon. I also double punched a strip for along the centre
Hook the flap under the larger flower or what ever you have to hold it down
Very carefully unhook the flap and get ready to reveal the inside
Wella! this is what the inside looks like, I have left plenty of room for photos and journaling but adding tags to the pockets and along the left side flap I have cut a strip (kind of like a photo strip) and then cut 3 squares from the center I have lifted these just slightly so to give a little definition. Again I have used goodies from the Collectables pack. If you wanted you could always put another photo on the "Merry Christmas" panel
This is a closeup of the pockets showing the 3 large watercolour tags from the Prima pads
Finally this is the side view. I have created this gift using 2 pieces of cardstock and it is 6 3/4 wide and when unfolded is about 17" long.
The papers I have used are as follows:- Good Tidings, Wonderland, Baubles, Joy - all from the Silver Bells Collection
along with some Bo Bunny Double Dot Vintage Blue cardstock
Well that's it from me in the meantime....I am away now to work on next weeks theme
hope you have had a enjoyable time catching up on all the goodies the Design Team is bringing you and are having a go at some of them for yourself.
Take Care and
Happi Scrappin'
Hi there, Christine S. here. How are you today? I hope you've had a great weekend enjoying the sunshine & Santa parades in your area. This week is all about homemade Christmas gifts at Artfull Crafts. Have you created your yet? I finally managed to finish mine, & here it is:
My friend loved one of the Multi Purpose Boxthat I've made (check out the full post on that here), so I thought what a great idea to make one for her as well.
Edges & parts of the box have been given a coat of Slate paint. It's a great neutral gray shade that goes with anything.
The rest of the parts have been adhered with papers from the Home For Christmascollection. Yep, you can easily create any type of project with this collection.
A few touches of pink has been added to liven up the neutral colors of the box. In here I've added a doily, I Am Roses flower, wooden icon & bronze charm which can all be purchased at the Artfull Crafts shop.
I've die cut some doilies from the papers & topped it with a pearl brad, keeping the layers simple.
The dividers also have the same color paint & papers to go with the box. Now all my friend has to do is add labels to them & start organizing some of her crafty stuff....think embossing folders, dies, plain cards, etc.
As always, thanks for dropping by. I hope you're having a great start to your December. Hopefully we get to pick a Christmas tree with the girls some time late this week. I just love the smell & look of fresh tree, can't beat it.

Inspiration
The
Design Team will be sharing their creations each day until next Sunday
when the new theme will be announced. Here are some wonderful homemade
gift ideas from previous year's Design Teams to get you started:
I got the birdhouse template here. It makes the smaller birdhouse and for the larger one I just enlarged it on the photocopier. These Carta Bella papers are perfect for making them as they are really thick. Also being doublesided it gives you double the choice of papers!
For this one I added some bakers twine before I attached the roof so that it can be hung on the Christmas Tree.
These buttons are great to embellish the house with.
For this one I just used white card and embossed each part of the house. I embellished with a diecut and these cute little roses.
So are you busy decorating your house for Christmas? I have started but have not got my tree yet. I get a real one so don't like to get it too early!
Good morning! Lisa here with another festive project to share-- this time it's a Christmas-themed clipboard, made using theSimple Stories Claus & Co range, and fitting in perfectly with this week's theme of table/tree/home decorations. :)
As you'll see, it's a very quick & easy project, but ideal for this time of year when there is so much to remember-- because making a list (and checking it twice, naturally!) and having it somewhere you can see what needs to be done is super-helpful.
I used an A5-sized clipboard (from Warehouse Stationery) and covered it in some red starred paper. The "Dear Santa" list sheet is cut from the 2x12, 4x12 and 6x12 Elements sheet, and slipped under the bulldog clip at the top to hold it in place. I glued a red & white gingham button to the centre of the top bulldog clip, and added another smaller bulldog clip at the side. That holds a little cluster of embellishments- a shiny gold heart, and a Christmas tag with a candy-cane striped tie and a little bling star atop the tree.
A detailed shot is below:
Super-simple, and a great project to get the kids involved with, because there's nothing too fiddly or complicated to contend with. Because the "Dear Santa" sheet is removable, as are the side cluster of embellishements, the base clipboard could easily be altered/adapted to suit other times of the year as well: just change the theme of the accessories!
Thanks so much for looking, and I'll see you again soon.
Betsy here this morning ladies to continue the Christmas theme, that being home decorations.
Being a card maker only, I do have to stretch my imagination when it comes to stepping over that line, but anyway, here we go. One of my friends came to card making one day with a block of wood and my first thought was, by decorating it up, it would make a lovely centre piece for the table, in the form of a candle. Well, I talked nicely to Kathy and she kindly gave me a wood block and this is the resulting product. Hope you like it ladies - it is so simple to make, really doesn't take much imagination at all!
After cleaning the block I sanded it, then covered it with patterned paper. I added some sepia ink round the edges to age it slightly. I found some gold mesh, berries, poinsettia died flowers, ribbon, and a trailing leaf die which I have lost the packaging for. Then I trotted off to the Warehouse and bought a candle for the completion. What's your thoughts ladies? If I can make one, anyone can!!
Do remember all the pre Christmas fun that is going on at Artfull Crafts at the moment - Thursday is a very big day with the visit of Finnabair, for a couple of classes, fun will be had by all, no doubt, and then Saturday we have the Christmas Events day which is always enjoyable. There are also challenges to participate in and we love seeing all your work, so don't hesitate to take part. Prizes to be won, as well.
Trust you are all enjoying what our lovely design team have been sharing on the blog - some of the ladies are so talented.
All today, happy crafting to all and many blessings,
Hi there, Christine S. here starting off the third week of Artfull Crafts' Christmas Countdown. This week is all about Home/Tree/Table decorations. I made a home decoration/display with one of my favourite shape...stars! One can never have too many stars :). Let me show you what I created, & I hope you'll like it as much as I do.
I went for a clean & natural look, inspired by the texture of the Laurel paper. I wanted this piece to have a marriage of festive & Scandinavian look & feel. It was easy to achieve with this lovely & versatile Christmas collection. Now, let's have a closer look at each stars.
The first smallest top star has the Mistletoe paper & cut out pieces from the Laurel & Sugar Plum papers.
The second star has the Sugar Plum paper as well. This is one of my favourite paper from this collection, it has a lovely & versatile print.
The fourth biggest star has the Sugar Plum paper too. Both sides of the paper you can pretty much use for anything & everything for your projects. That delicious vine is from Prima's Midnight Kiss Victorian Christmas Flower pack.
