Louise - Magnolia Love

Hi Louise  here with you today to share a couple of cards featuring the new Magnolia Stamps which have just become available at Artfull Crafts.

First up I have an Autumn inspired card........

I used Magnolia "Sweet Crazy Love - Rose Scent Tilda"  coloured with prisma pencils and OMS on watercolour paper, I cut the image out with sharp scissors to get a better edge and mounted it on the mat which was cut with My Favourite Things Die-namics - Oval Open Scallop Doily.  The papers are from the  Ruby Rocket Nostalgia collection.  I glimmer misted a prima resistant canvas with glimmermist in Sunsisters & Meadow Green

On this second card I have used softer colours and given the card a more shabby look. I used Magnolia Stamps - Sweet Crazy Love - Heart Balloons  coloured with copics on watercolour paper. I have used a 6x6 MME paper pad for the papers which are edged with Picket Fence Distress Paint as are the Sweet Nothing Collectables I have also used on the background.  I have glimmer misted the seam binding and prima resistant canvas with Electric Blue and Vintage Pink glimmermists.

These magnolia stamps are very cute and fun to colour and there is a great selection available at Artfull Crafts so be sure to check them out.

Tips and Tutorials from Tina

The photo in this layout is of my mum and her sisters,  taken in the 1940's.  I decided to play with stamps and ink, taking a sheet of white paper and transforming it with lots of stamping and distressing techniques, until I ended up with the brown/black design.  I pleated and stitched one section, threading beads onto the embroidery floss.  I used a mask on the green paper to add extra detail.  Liz now has this layout at the shop if you are interested in a closer look.

A tutorial for you.....
And my card made using the flower...

This is actually an easel card, but I forgot to take a photo before I gave it to Liz!  Must have been having a blonde day.

Another tutorial, this time for simple rolled flowers.

A layout of my bestie and I on her wedding day.  I used impasto scraped over Glimmer Screens (stencils) to create the lovely texture.  This is a fantastic product which I love using.  I then rubbed on some Perfect Pearls once touch dry and spritzed with Glimmer Mist

I created a frame from acetate and used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and Metal Mixatives to colour it.  The lace was coloured with Glimmer Mist.  It's so pretty and shimmery in real life.

A layout of my daughter and her friend....

The chipboard has been inked and embossed.
Another family layout.  This time using Kaisercraft English Rose collection.

Happy scrapping,
Tina

Tina - Some flowery things to share!

Hi everybody, Tina here!
In keeping with our theme of "Birthdays and Blooms" at Artfull Crafts, I thought I'd post a few pics for you.  The first is a card or photo holder ( I haven't decided which yet) using Kaisercrafts Recipe Box.

I used K & Company Que Sera Sera papers, Creative Imaginations rub-on, Prima bling, and lots of flowers, some of which I have spritzed with Glimmer Mist, or applied Stickles, or Diamond Dust.
I will place some photos in the 'windows' once I get them printed.  This project took around 6 hours to make, but I do love how it turned out.

I was using up my scraps with this layout.    It is based on a sketch/recipe from a challenge blog (but I can't find which one, so if you know please leave me a message so I can give them credit)
I made a flower from a strip of muslin, folded in half, using a running stitch to gather it.  I added a button to the centre.  Other flowers were made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, I stamped on one with pink ink.

I hand-dyed a doiley using Glimmer Mist, and used this as a flower with part of my title as its centre.  Dyeing it gives a different look than just spritzing the doiley.  I usually do a batch and dye doileys, old lace, and seam binding.

My next layout is my DT project for Scrappassion Challenge Blog International where we had to make a monochromatic layout with at least four photos.
There's prizes to be won, by either joining the challenge, or by becoming a follower, so head on over to the blog after you've checked out my pics.
I used a Martha Stewart punch, and I coloured almost everything with Glimmer Mist (I'm sure I told you I love that stuff!)
